We would like to hold the Carnival on Ellinwood
between Lee and Graceland. We intend to arrange the stands
and rides so that traffic will have sufficient clearance
for use during the day.

The motion was made by Alderman Campagna and seconded
by Alderman Pflughaupt to grant the above re(iuest, provided,
however, the usual public liability insurance is provided. The
motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon the Mayor de-
clared the motion carried and the request granted.
INVITE BIDS FOR SALE OF 1939 Tax Anticipation Warrants:
The motion was made by Alderman Pflughaupt and seconded by
Alderman Lemke to instruct the Clerk to notify the usual
bidders that the City's 1939 Tax Anticipation Warrants would
be sold at auction at the postponed regular council meeting
April 24, 1939 at 8:00 P.M. The motion was voted upon by
acclamation whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried.
POSTPONE COUNCIL NFRTING: The motion was then made
by Alderman Tflughaupt and seconded by Alderman Lemke to post-
pone the RAgular Council meeting to be held April 17th, 1939
to April 24th, 1939 at 8:00 P.M. The motion was voted upon
by acclamation whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT: The motion was made by Alderman Lemke
and seconded by Alderman Carroll to adjourn. The motion was
voted upon by acclamation whereupon the Mayor declared the motion
carried and the Council regularly adjourned.

PLAINES, HELD ON THE 17th DAY OF
APRIL, 1939 AT THE HOUR OP 8:00 P.M.
CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by
Mayor Hobart M. Ahbe, presiding. In the absence of Edgar J.
Friedrich, City Clerk, Mayor Ahbe appointed Pearl Koelling,
City Clerk pro tem. Alderman Carroll and Dopheide responded
to the roll call. The Clerk reported *no quorum" whereupon
Mayor Ahbe declared no quorum present and ordered the meeting
adjourned until Monday April 24, 1939 at 8:00 P.M.
