CIVIC CENTER, MONDAY, DECEMBER 4, 1989
CALL TO ORDER: .The regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of Des Plaines, Illinois, was called to order by
Mayor D. Michael Albrecht at 8:10 P.M. in the
Eleanor Rohrbach Memorial Council Chambers,
Des Plaines Civic Center on Monday, December 4, 1989.
ROLL CALL:
Roll Call indicated the following Aldermen present:
Childers, Christiansen, Wetter, Schneck, Hardiman,

Also present were: City Treasurer Fredricks, City Manager Asaro, City

The opening prayer was given by Father Paul Rosemeyer,
St. Mary's Church, followed by the Pledge of
Allegiance to the Flag.
Moved by Sarlo, seconded by Chiropolos, to approve
Minutes of regular meeting of the City Council held
November 20, 1989, as published. Motion declared
carried.
Moved by Schneck, seconded by Sarlo, to approve
Minutes of Executive Session of City Council held on
November 20, 1989, as published. Motion declared
carried.
BILLS PAYABLE: Moved by Schneck, seconded by Sarlo, to adopt the
following resolution: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DES PLAINES THAT THE FOLLOWING

tingent upon finalization of change of ownership con-

computer, including software package and training of
personnel, in the amount of $7,500, Water Account,

FLOOD Moved by Chidlers, seconded by Wetter, to allow a
PROBLEMS: resident to address the Council regarding flood
problems. Motion declared carried.
Rosemary and John Nitz, 685 Lyman Avenue, addressed
the Council regarding the flooding that has occurred
in their area and their recommendations for future
flood protection.
Mayor Albrecht thanked them for their remarks and
assured them that this matter is being given careful
consideration.
