11/27/1945(MINUTES CONT'D.) 427 APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Each member of the City Council having been sup- plied with a copy of the minutes of the regular meeting of November 5, 1945, the motion was made by Alderman Kehe and seconded by Campagna that the said minutes be approved. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried and the said minutes approved. ADJOURNMENT: The motion was made by Alderman Campagna and seconded by Scharringhausen to adjourn. MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DES PLAINES, H1LD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 27. 1945, Al 8:00 P. M. CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order with mayor G. Walter Pflughaupt, presiding, with Aldermen Johnson, Napieralski, Vavrinek, Kehe, °char- ringhausen, McKay, Campagna and Halverson responding to roll -call. XHE READING•OF CALL: Waiver of Notice We, the undersigned members of the City Council of the City of Des Plaines, do hereby waive notice of the time, place, date and purpose of a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Des Plaines to be held on November 27, 1945 A. D. at 8:00 P. M. in the Council Chambers, and do hereby consent to the holding of such meeting and to transaction of any and all business that may come before such meeting: signed, G. REZONING AT GOLF ROAD AND C. & N. W. R. R. IN MAINE TOWNSHIP: Alderman McKay reported attending the meeting of County Zoning November 23, regarding the land at Golf Road.and the C. & N. W. R. ". in Maine Township from farming to light manufacturing, and that the owners of property, Frank Renner and Mary Schneider, were present and that with the permission of the Council they would present and inform the.Council with and of their plays. The permission was granted. Mr. F. Renner then..presented the plans and questions of Aldermen were answered by him. Alderman Kehe reported having inspected the property and described same to Council. Alderman Napieralski and Campagna questioned Mr. Renner about the water supply and sewer disposal which he explained to their satisfaction. After all inquiried by the Aldermen had been satisfactorily answered, Alderman McKay made themotion which was seconded by Campagna that the City Council take no. action apposing the rezoning to light manufacturing. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried. LIGHT AT GOLF ROAD AND C. & N. R. R.: The Clerk read the following. Mr. Otto W. J Henrich, City Clerk Des Plaines, Illinois Dear -Mr. Henrich, On November 8 you wrote to me concerning the need for two lights to illuminate the cinder walkway in back of the concrete retaining wall near the Chicago & Northwestern Cumberland Station, along S.B.I. Route 58, and q_zoted a letter to the City Council written by Alderman S. E. McKay. I referred this matter to our Maine office at Springfield and I am in- formed by them that if it is the desire of the local people tocarry out this im- provement, the department will require that the work be done by the City athor- ities of les Plaines. If your city desires to, proceed with this installation, a permit issued by the department will be necessary. Yours very truly, (signed) C. H.
