SPECIFICATIONS AND PLANS OF WOLF ROAD IMPROVEMENTS: The Mayor pro tem in- structed the Clerk to give the specifications and plans of sewer and water'improve- ments to the Committee on Sewer and Water. ' The motion was then made by Alderman i�apieralski and seconded by McKay that the Sewer and ',dater committee be given power to act on the speeifications and plans of Wolf Road improvements. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon the Chair declared the motion carried. CENSUS LEGALITY: The motion was made by Alderman Napieralski and seconded by McKay that the City Attorney, Frank Opeka, communicate with the Secretary of State regarding legality of the census taken by the City.' Ahbe, City Treasurer, Otto W. J. Henrich, City Clerk, Arthur Rieck, Electrical Insp., F.,Scharringhausen, Buidling'Insp., Also annual reports of Arthur Rieck, Frank Scharringhausen, and Ray Kolze, Sec'y of Fire Department. REPORTS OF COM iITTES: The Water, Sewer & Publ. Bldgs. through its chairman reported regarding an ordinance repealing Paragraph (B) of Section 193, of Article X1X of the Revised Bldg. Code of the City of Des Plaines, 1939. The Committee recommended that the provision of the Para. (B) of Sect. 193 of Article X1X of the Revised Code of 1939 remain as they are. It furthur r^commended that to insure proper inspection that the City Clerk be instructed to deliver a copy of every "Street Openin" permit application to the Building Commission after approved by the Supt of Stre^ts And that no permit issue until approved by theBuEding Commissioner where it pertains to sewer P Water taps. The Building Commissioner with these applications wil:'. have notice of intended work and will thereby be enabled to provide for necessary inspectton as provided by existing ordinances. That the proposed improvedment lies with5n the City limits, and the improvement is required under existing ordinances. The plans and speciafications hatre been examined and found to be in order slo the full amount of the cost of construction together with the fees of the engineer and costs or inspections have been deposidied *ith the City Clerk. That the plans and specifications be approved and the work authorized to proceed. The motion was then made by Alderman Johnson and seconded -by -Lemke to concur in the report. Due to wartime conditions thebus company cannot make an extension. DES PLAINES TRAFFIC, /COM:USSroN: The clerk then read the following letter: January 24, 1945. DES PLAINES POST NO. 36 AMERICAN LEGION: The Cl rk then read a letter asking permission to hold the American Legion annual Carnival in Rand Park From truly 1st to the 8th, 1945, 'd The motion was then made by Alderman Campagan and seconded by Vavrinek to authorize permission to the Des Plaines Post # 36 to hold their annual carnival in Rand Park. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon the Chair declared the motion carried . 1 1 NORTHWES'IERIT PARK: Alderman Campagna reported he had contracted various organizations regarding the rebuilding of thedance pavilion in Northwestern Park Forest Preserve. He suggested that the City attorney draw up a.resolution to be presented to the officals of the Forest Preserves. Alde reran Napieralski also reported the county officials did not intend to rebuild this pavilion. The chair then instructed the City Attorney to draw up said resolution to be presented at the next regualr council meeting. ELECTRICAL COMMISSION APPOINTMENT: The mayor pro -tem made the appoint- ment of Ed. J. Murphy as member of the Electrical Commission to fill a vacancy.
