The letter is written on the reverse side of this report. PATRICE N. EDGREN, DEP. CLK. Des Plaines, Illinois, September 5, 1944 To the Mayor and Cityvouncil: Your City. Attorney has investigated the above and has found: That the afore- said purchase was made at a Tax Sale in 1911 for a nominal sum. A subsequent tax deed was issued which is also outstanding. No taxes have been paid on this lot for many years. It is but a 25 foot lot and not large enough for any building purposes. This title accrued to the City from the Village of Riverview which originally bought in at the tax sale in 1911. 312 (REPORT CONT'D.) I therefore recommend that the offer be accepted for the following reasons: (1) The amount offered is practically double of the sale price. (2) The lot involved has been tax delinquent for many years, and can, by this transfer be made revenue producing. (3) No advantage can be gained in keeping title in its present status. signed, Frank .
