DEFER PORTION OF GARBAGE TRUCK COST: - The Clerk then read the following proposed resolution: RESOLUTION WHEREAS, The Untied States of America is now engaged in war, and to con- serve vital materials and equipment it is difficult to purchase and acquire trucks and equipment without priorities; and WHEREAS, The City of Des Plaines, to maintain its system of Garbage collection and disposal requires the use of a new truck and hoist to supplant worn out and deteriorated equipment, and has secured the necessary nr�.orities to make such purchasd; and WHEREAS, the amount appropriated is not sufficient to Purchase a truck and hoist, the cost of whic is approximately $2,700D0, and it being necessary to carry on the duties of preserving the health of the community; and it being necessary to purchase a new truck and hoist; and WHEJ;EAS, t? is Council declares this to be an emergency; now, therefore: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DES PLAINES, CO K COUNTY, IL_INOIS: SECTION 1. CITY: The clerk then read the following letter: Mayor and City Council Des Plaines, Illinois. Re: Bo .ckenha_uer vs. City Disconnection in the County Court Gentlemen: October 18, 1943 On Monday, October llth, Judge Don Scott, siting as acting County Judge in the County Cjurt called t; e above matter for decision. The court expressed itself that ti would not disconnect the 33 feet (representing the south half of Thacker St.) beca se of the sewer -rd water mins. After some discussion, and the court insisting that the ouestion of title be adjudicated in a court of competent jurisdiction, en order was entered holding in abeyance t}e sub- ject matter subject to it being brough up on motion of either party.
