MIND BS OF THE ADJOURN REGULAR
MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF DES PLAINES HELD IN THE
COUNCIL CHAMBERS ON MONDAY, MARCH
11,.19a9 AT THE HOUR OF 7;10 P.M.
CALL TO ORDER; The meeting was called to order by
-Mayor Hobart M. Ahbe, presiding, with Aldermen Carroll, Johnson,
Pflughaupt, Henrich, Dopheide, Friott, Lemke, Schwanbeck and
Campagna responding to the roll call. The Clerk reported all
members of the Council present.
Mayor Ahbe stated that this is an adjourned meeting
from March 6, 1939 for the primary purpose of disposing of the
1939 Appropriation Ordinance.
1939 APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE; The Clerk then read,
in its entirety, for final reading the proposed 1939 Appropriation
-Ordinance entitled:
AN ORDINANCE MAKING APPROPRIATIONS TO
DEFRAY THE EXPENSES OF THE C ITY OF DES
PLAI NES FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES, DES-
IGNATED THE "ANNUAL APPROPRIATION BILL"
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING JANUARY
1, 1939, AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1939.
The motion was made by Alderman Pflughaupt and
seconded by Alderman Lemke to finally pass and adopt this pro-
posed Ordinance. The Mayor put the question and the Clerk
called the roll with the following result; Ayes; Aldermen
Carroll, Johnson, Pflughaupt, Henrich, Dopheide, Friott, Lemke,
Schwanbeck and Campagna. Nays; None. The Mayor thereupon
declared the motion carried and the said ordinance passed.
Manor Hobart M. Ahbe then signed the said ordinance
in approval thereof and Edgar J. Friedricn, City Clerk, attested
the said approval.
WOLF ROAD DRAINAGE; The motion was made by Alderman
Dopheide and seconded by Alderman Lemke to refer to tne Sewer.
Drainage and Sanitation Committee the matter of diverting the
drainage of golf Road, between Algonquin Road and Thacker Street,
from the City Sewer System. The motion was voted upon by accla-
mation whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried.
GIRL SCOUTS TO USE COUNCIL CHAMBER; The motion was
made by Alderman Campagna and seconded by Alderman_ Lemke to grant
the Girl Scouts permission to use tne Council Chambers from 4 to 6
P.M. on Thursday, March 30, 1939. The motion was voted upon by
acclamation whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT: The motion was made by Alderman Pflughaupt
and seconded by Alderman Dopheide to adjourn. The motion was
voted upon by acclamation whereupon the Mayor declared the motion
carried and the Council regularly adjourned.

NOTE: Immediately upon adjournment the Council met informally
with a delegation representing the Board of Health and
thoroughly discussed the adequacy of the present commun-
ity nursing service.
