CALL T.0 ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Mayor George 4.Ainder, presiding with Aldermen Ahbe,:: Carroll, Tulle, Bishop, MacLuckie, 1'rederick,Lemke, Schwanbeck and Campagna responding to the roll_cal 1. The Clerk reported a quorum present. READING OF THE CALL OF THE MEETING: The Clerk then read the following call of the meeting as well as the waiver of notice: March 27 1937 CALL FOR SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING To the Members of the City Council of the City of Des Plaines,Illinois tTpon order of the Mayor,George '.Kinder, there will be a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Des Plaines on Monday evening,March 29th,1937 at 8:00 o'clock for the purpose of considering library equipment. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried. Mayor Kinder then introduced Mr.Erich Schalk, president of the Board of Library Trustees, who submitted a blue print showing dimensions and locations of proposed equipment for the new Public Library. He also submitted an estimate covering this equipment in the sum of $1,980.00. The motion was made by Alderman Frederick and seconded by Carroll. to refer this matter to the Committee on Buildings and Plata together with the Library Board, with instructions to contact the architect of the building for the purpose of having him prepare plans and specifications covering the re- commendations of the Library Board with respect to library equipment. The Mayor_put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following result: Ayes; Aldermen Ahbelearroll, Fulle,BiShop,MacLuckie, Frederick,Lemke, Schwanbeckand gampagna. (Alderman Pflughaupt arrived at the meeting during this roll call, but not having heard the motion and debate, did not vote on the Motion.). The Mayor thereupon declared the motion carriced. STREET LIGHT :The motion was made by Alderman Campagna and seconded by Carroll to authorize the issuance of an_order to put into service the light on Van Buren Street, first light east of the Soo Line Railroad tracks.. The Mayor put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results Ayes; Aldermen Ahbe, Carroll, Pflughaupt, 'u11e, Bishop, MacLuckie, Frederick,Lemke, Schwanbeck and -Campagna. Nays; None. The Mayor thereupon declared the motion carried. ADJOURNMENT: The motion was made by Alderman Pflug- haupt and seconded by Frederick to adjourn. MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CIT X OF DES PLAINES HEI D ON APRIL6th,A.D. 1937 IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS,CITY HALL,DES PLAINES,ILLINOIS. _ GALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Mayar George Y.Rinder, presiding, with Aldermen Carroll, Pflughaupt, Palle, Bishop, MacLuckie, Frederick, Lemke, Schwanbeck and Campagna responding to the roll call. Alderman Ahbe was absent during this roll call, but arrived shortly thereafter. REPORTS OF OnaCERSI The Clerk then r ead the report for March 1937 of Edgar X.Friedrich,City Clerk, as well as the report for March 1937 af H.A.Becker, Captain of Police. Mayor Kinder ordered these reports placed on file. THE JUDICIARY AND ASSESSMENT COMMITTEE had no report to offer. THE POLICE AND LICENSE COMMITTEE, through its chairman, Alderman Palle, submitted the following report: REPORT To the Chairman of Volice & License Committee - Alderman Pullet at the meeting of the City Council, held March 15, 1937, the following matter was referred to your committee: The proposals for renewal of a police squad car. The original proposals are attached hereto. EDGAR J.FRIEDRICH,City Clerk NOTE: Please return these orignal proposals with your report in order that I may have them for the files. E.J.F. Your Committee On Police and License has investigated the above and has founds The Ford *85't as the proper car for squad car use in the Police Department.We therefore recommend that the Ford *85w bt rented for a period of one year at a rental of 4% (four cents) per mile according to the bid of Purnell &Wilson Co.
