STREET LIGHTING: The motion was made by Alderman Carroll and seconded by Ahbe to instruct each Alderman to determine which additional lights should be included in the City's street lighting schedule, and report his suggestions to the Council sitting as a committee of the whole on Monday, November 23,1936. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried. REQUEST FOR LOCATING A T RY: Alderman Ahbe inquired of the Clerk whether permission has been granted to a certain tannery to locate in the old Foundry building on East Miner Street. The Clerk reported that permission has been denied because the Zoning Ordinance expressly prohibits the operation of a tannery in the ity. The motion was made by Alderman that in the lurer when an industry which is not specifically covered in the City Ordinances, wishes to locate in Des Plaines, the matter be referred to the Council for action. The motion was voted upon byacclamation, whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried. WHEREAS ten (101 bids for the construction of a proposed new Municipal Building, known as P.W.A. Docket Illinois 1692 R, have been received and heard by the Council and WHEREAS the bids of the following three(3) bidders were found to be the three (3) lowest bids received, namely: Charles B.Johnson & Son., Inc. :ames McHugh Sons,Inc. George dollett Construction Go. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Des Plainesthat the said three ta) lowest bids be retained and referred to Ihielbar and Fugard, authorized architects for the City, for the purpose of analyzing the said bids and reporting the result of the said bidding to the State Director, P.W.A. for Illinois, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all bids excepting the said three(3) lowest bids be rejected and the respective bid bonds and/or bid checks be returned. At this point Alderman Frederick arrived and reported his presence to the Clerk. $11,000.00 JUDGMENT FUND BOND ISSUE: The Clerk then read in its entireiy, for first reading, a proposed ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUE OF $11,000 JUDGMENT FUNDING BONDS OF THE CITY OF DES PLAINES., COOK COUNTY, TuuNOIS, AND PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY OF A DIRECT ANNUAL TAX SUFFICIENT TO PAY THE PRINCIPAL OF AND INTEREST ON THE SAME AS IT MATURES. The motion was made by Alderman Carroll and seconded by Pflughaupt to suspend such rules of the Council as might prevent the final passage of this proposed ordinance at this meeting, and to put the said proposed ordinance upon its passage. The Mayor put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following re- sult: Ayes; Aldermen Carroll, Pflughaupt, Fulle, Bishop, MacLuckie, Frederick, Lemke, adhwanbeck and Campagna. WHEREAS the said council has by resolution determined that the basis upon which the contract fot the said pro- ject is to be awarded shall be the base bid less the items designated in the specifications as Alternates numbers one (I), two (2), three(3) and four (4), and.
