The motion was made by Alderman Ahbe and seconded by laacLuckie
to deny this ayiplication. The Mayor put the question and
the Clerk called the roll with the following result: Ayes;
Aldermen Ahbe, Carroll, I flughaupt, Bishop, MacLuckie, Frederick,
Lemke and Campagna. Jays ; None. The Mayor thereupon declared the
motion carried and the ap_lication denied.
CRUSHED STONE FOR RIVE VIEW STREETS: Alderman Campagna
then requested that an effort be r_nade to spread crushed stone,
which is being hauled from the Lee Street widening project
upon the unpaved streets in Riverview. Mayor kinder referred
this request to the Streets and Sidewal-s Committee for investi-
gation and report.
ADJOURNMENT: The motion was made by Alderman
Frederick and seconded by MacLuckie that the Council now ad-
journ to Tuesday, April 14 1936 at 8%00 P.M. The motion was
voted upon by acclamation whereupon the Mayor declared the

CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order
by Mayor George W.Kinder, presiding, with Aldermen Ahbe,
Carroll, Pfluzhaupt, Tulle, Bisho_a, MacLuckie, Frederick,
Lemke ...nd :Campagna responding to the roll call. Alderman
Schwanbeck vas absent during the entire meeting on account
of illness.
Mayor Kinder announced that this is an adjourned
meeting principally for the purpose of further considering
the bids received for the combletion of Section "A" of
P.W.A.Project
ENGINEEM REPORT ON BIDS: W.h.Allen, City
Engineer, then reported that the lowest bid received was the
bid of R.C.Wieboldt co. for the sum of S73,890.00. he further
reported that he has investigated R.C.kieboldt Co.. with res
pect to reliability and ability to successfully complete the
project and has found them reliable and competent, and
recommended that the contract for the completion of Section "A"
of P.'.A.P:oject ;x7270 be awarded to. 1.C.1ieboldt.Co.
AWARD OF CONTRACT: : The motion was made by Alderman
Bishop and seconded by Frederick to award the contract for the
completion of Section "A" of P.W.A.Project #7270 to R.C.\uieboldt
Co. for the contract price of $73,890.00, said award to be made
subject to the approval of the tette Director of the Public
Works Administration; and that the Mayor and City Clerk be
instructed and directed to execute the said contract for and in
the name of the City of Des Plaines, subsequent to approval by
the State Director of the .Eublic Works Administration. The Mayor
put the question and the Clerk called the roll viith the following
result: Aye; Aldermen 1Uabe, Carroll, rfIughaupt, iiulle, Bishop,
MacLuckie, Frederick, Lemke and Campagna. ivays; none. 'he Mayor

PROVIDING FUNDS: -Mayor Kinder then reported that
in order to supply sufficient funds to complete P.W.A.l'roject
#7270 it Will be necessary to borrow about6,600.00 from such
funds as have sufficient moneys on hand.
The motion was made by Alderman Frederick and
seconded by Lemke to authorize and direct the finance Committee,
the City Clerk and City Treasurer to arrange to borrow not to ex-
ceed $6600.00 for the completion of P.l .A.Pro j ect 7270 from. such,
departments as have sufficient funds on hand and deposit
the said sum into the Construction Account for PWA rroject
7270. The Mayor put the question , and the Clerk called the
roll with the following result: Ayes; Aldermen Ahbe, Carroll,
Pflughaupt , Fulle, Bishop, L.acLuckie, Frederick, Lemke and
Campagna. Nays; None. The Mayor thereupon declared the
motion carried.

years, 1, a s pastor, am wondering if said permit
could be given us free of charge. .- realize the
charge for a permit is not large; yet you will
realize that under the above conditions each dollar
counts.

Cam-u;na to grant the Zirst Christian Reformed Church a
permit without charge as requested. The motion was voted

AUTO WRECKING YARD: Mr. Ihssen addressed the
Council requesting a license to conduct an auto wrecking
establds.lment in the old foundry buildings on East Miner
Street. The motion was made by Alderman MacLuckie and
seconded by 1'flughuupt to requext Mr. lhssen. to submit his
request invariting. The motion vias voted upon by acclamation
whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried.
