Des Plaines,Illinois
Dear Sirs
Will you kindly present the followbg to your
City Council at the next meeting:
The Volunteers of America request permission to
hold their fourteenth annual "heart" Tag Day
in Des Plaines on Saturday May 2nd, or Saturday
May 9th.
Tag day money is available for use in your community
or in any part of Illinois for destitute families of
prisoners. Because of Mrs. Booth's 41 years of
voluntary service in the penal institutions of the
United States many of such relief cases come to us
through Wardens or Chaplains, Protestant or Catholic.
Our tag day prxblicity through this "once a year"
appeal is valuable in keeping the organization
before the public, and we hope for your continued
kindly co-operation.
Very sincerely
