The motion was made by Alderman MacLuckie and seconded by
Campagna to refer this letter to the Sewer Drainage and
Sanitation Committee for study and report. The motion

STREET LIGHTS: Alderman Palle inquired regard-
ing the alleged moving of lights on White Street near
Keeney Avenue. After some discussion the motion was made
by Alderman MacLuckie and seconded by Carroll to refer
this matter to the Streets and Sidewalks Committee for
consideration and report. The motion vias voted upon by
acclamation, whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried.

City Clerk, the City Attorney and the City Engineer in
connection with the Reservoir and Softener Project. The
motion was made by Alderman Frederick and seconded by Bishop
to authorize the City Clerk, the City Attorney and the City
Engineer to sign and execute any or all such documents as
are required on P.W.A.instructions known as HMirs.8S, Form
IV - pages 2 and 3 ". The Mayor put the question and the

apply to the Federal Emergency Administn.tor of Public
Works for the sum of One Hundred To Thousand rive Hundred.
Dollars (102,500.) under a; plication known as P.W.A. 7270,
for the betterment and improvement of its water supply
system, and
WHEREAS the Federal Emergency Administrator of Public
orks did heretofore in response to said application,
authorize a loan to he CITY OF DES PLAINES of Seventy-
eight Thousand Dollar:. ("78,000.00) and a grant of Twenty -
Five Thousand Dollars (25,000.00) or a total of One Hundred
Three Thousand Dollaro,(103,000.00)for the betterment and
improvement of said water supply system, and
WHEREAS advertisement for bids was duly had,and
the bids of sundry contractors received by the City Council
of the CITY OF DES PLAILES, and
WHEREAS the cost of said contemplated improve-
ment based on the lowest bids therefor, exceeds the ezti-
mated cost thereof by Twelve Thousand Eight Hundred Fifty
Dollars (121850.00);
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the CITY OF DES PLAIES that this Council does hereby re-
quest the l+ederstl Administrator of Public Works for an
increased grant of Four Thousand Dollars (;„s4,C0G.00) ,
being approximately thirty per cent (3C) of said in-
creased cost of Twelve Thousand Light Hundred Fifty
Dollars (02,850.0C).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk trans-
mit a certified copy of this resolution to the Federal
Administrator of Public Works, immediately.

AP-PREHENDING DOGS: Alderman Frederick called
attention to the fact that the Council, on September 30,1C�
instructdd, the Mayor to issue a pros dation quarantining
all dogs in the City of Des Plaines, but that no provisions
were made to apprehend such dogs as may be at large.
The motion was made by Alderman Ahbe and seconded
by Carroll to refer this matter to the Police and License
Committee for study and report. The motion was voted upon
by acclamation, whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried.
