WORKS PROGRESS ADMINISTRATION: W.H.Allen, City Engineer, then reported that the Works Progress Administration of the Federal Government is ready to receive applications for work projects on the basis that the Government will pay all labor on such projects, and will further finance such projects to the extent of paying for materials up to an amount egal to 25% of the labor cost. Mr. Allen recommended the following projects: 1.cleaning our Water Mains. 2.Repairing all .Buffalo Boxes 3.Building such storm sewers as are necessary. 4.Repairing sidewalks. The motion was made by Alderman Lemke and seconded by Fulle to authorize and instruct W.H.Allen, City Engineer, to proceed to prepare such estimate and application for the project of cleaning the water mains as is required by the W.P.A. FOREIGN INSURANCE TAX: The motion was made by Alderman ederick and seconded by Campagna to instruct the City Attorney to investigate House Bill #662 pertaining to the 27 tax on for- eign insurance companies, and to report his findings to the Council.
