MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED YFETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DES PLAINES
HELD IN THE CITY CLERK'S OFFICE ON THE
24th DAY OF NOVEMBER,A.D.1933 AT THE
HOUR OF 8:00 P.I.
The meeting was called to order by mayor
George W.Kinder, with Alderman Ahbe, Collet, PfluEhaupt,
Dean, Huxmann, rsishop, Frederick and Mein$hausen respond-
ing to the roll call. Alderman Friott and Enzenbacher
were absent.
City Attorney,Meyer read the legaldraft of
the application for a loan to the Public Works Adminis-
tration for financing the proposed well and reservoir
project, while Carter Jenkins, engineer, outlined the
technical data to be included in this application.
The motion was made by Alderman Huxmann and
seconded by Frederick to authorize and instruct the
Mayor to secure options on several s*ghts suitable
for the proposed reservoir. The relives called on the
motion with the following result: Ayes; Aldermen Ahbe,
Collet, Pflughaupt, Dean, Huxmann, Bishop, Frederick and
Meinshausen. hays; gone. The mayor thereupon d eclared
the motion carried.
The members of the Council then proceeded to
prepare applications for projects to be carried on under
the Civil Works Administration, in order to file their at the
earliest possible date and get the city's unemployed to
work.
The motion was made by Alderman Huxmann and
seconded by r'flughaupt to adjourn. The motion w as voted
upon by acclamation, whereupon the Mayor declared the
motion carried and the Counciiregularly adjourned.

/MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DES PLAINES HELD IN
THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS ON THE 4th DAY OF
DECEMBER, A.D.1933 AT THE HOUR OF 8:00 PJL
The meeting was called to order by Mayor George
W.Kinder, with Aldermen Ahbe, Collet, Pflughaupt, Dean,
Huxmann, Bishop, Friott, Frederick and Meinshausen res-
ponding to the roll call. Alderman Enzenbacher arrived
later during the meeting.
The Clerk then read the following reports:
1. Report of rioward Becker, Chief of rolice,for aov.1933
2. Reeport of E.J.Friedrich,City Clerk for movember,l936.
The Mayor and each of the Aldermen were furnished with a
copy of the report of Chas. M.Larson, City Treasurer for
November,1933.
Alderman Friott, chairman of the 4udiciary and
Assessment Committeetreported that the lot for which
Frank Zaleski, attorney, bid 120.0C for a clear title several
weeks ago, involved various taxes and special assessments dating
back over 20 years, and that because of the complexity of
the situation he is not able to strbmit a recommendation.
The motion was made by Alderman Huxmann and
seconded by Ahbe to refer to the attention of the Finance
Committee, the mailer of securing payf the members of the
Police Department. The motion was voted upon by accla-
mation, whereupon the Mayor Declared the motion carried.
Alderman Collet, chairman of the Streets and
Sidewalks Committee reported that since so many street
lights have been discontinued,it may be necessary to
change the lighting in some places to pet the best results
without adding more lights.
The committee of Public Works, Buildings and Plats
had no report to offer.
The Sewer Drainage and Sanitation Committee had
no report to offer.
The Fire Committee had no report to offer.
The Water Committee had no report to offer.
Alderman,Huxmann, reported that the insurance
company carrying the city's insurance for public liability
and property damage on the automobiles for all City Depart-
ments, served notice that, unless arrangements are made to
pay the 31150.00 premium now due, the insurance will be
cancelled. The motion was made by Alderman Huxmann and
seconded by Dean to refer this matter to the Judiciary and
Assessment Committee with power to act. The motion was
voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the maydr declared the
motion.carried.
