MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DES PLAINES, ILLINOIS HELD IN THE
OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK ON THURSDAY, MAY 28, 1931
at 7130 P. M.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Hammerl. Alderman
Ahbe, Collet, Huxmann, Linder, Wettin, Lacey answering the roll
ball Aldermen Pflughaupt, Suster, Enzenbacher and Meinshausen
arrived immediately after Vile roll call.
Mayor Hammer' stated that the object of the meeting was to
come to some agreement with e kutlic ;Service Company of Northern
Illinois regarding the future lighting arrangement of homerican
Villas, Des Plaines Center and Des Plaines Terrace. He then in-
troduced Mr. E. J. Ingram, Lighting -ngineer of the kulalic Service
Company who outlined a program of lighting by which the City will
le obliged to pay for the lighting of 86 locations. Mr. Ingram '
proposed to eliminate 75 out of 238 lights, leaving 163 lights.;
and then reducing the 163 lights from 250 candle-power to 100
candle-power. This would reduce the Citys annual bill about
$1901408.
A motion was made by Alderman Ahbe and seconded by Alderman
Lacey to postpone definite action on this matter until the next
regular Council Meeting, when Yr. ingram agrees to have a formal
contract form on hand for the Councils approval. ihe motion was
voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the Mayor declared the mo-
tion carried.
A motion was made by Alderman Collet, and seconded by Alder-
man Huxmann to adjourn. The motion was voted upon by acclamation,
whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried, and the meeting
adjourned.
