AT THE HOUR OF 8 0' CLOC.ti P. k. Mayor Hammerl called tne meeting to order with Alder- man Collet, Ahoe, Heescn, Suster, hinder, Scniagel, Wettln, Lacey, Knabo and Enzenoacner andwering to roll call. Alderman Suster moved that the ouii.ding Committee be given power to errect a garage to house the •olice Cars: at a cost not to exceed $500.00. Alderman Collet seconded this motion and the roll has called with tne following results.. Ayes Alder- man Collet, Anne, Heescn, Suster, Lacey, hnabb and Linzenoacher Nays Alderman Scnlagel Wnereon the Mayor declared the motion carried. Alderman collet reported the aprons on Thacker Stre t completed. The Sewer, Drainage and Sanitation Committee had no report to make at this ,time. The Fire Committee had no report to make at this time. The Water and 'Water Mains Committee had no report to make at this time. Second reading of: - AN ORDIivAiuCE MA -ENDING SECTION 1167 AND SECTION. 11.69 OF CHAPTER 27 OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DES PLAINES OF 1928. Alderman Schlagel moved tnat tne Ordinance oe passed as read. Alderman Suster seconded tnis motion and tne roil was called with the following result. Ayes, Alderman Collet, Anoe, leesch, Suster, Schiagel, hinder, u ettin, Lacey, hnaob and Ernzneoacner. None voting Nay tie.ayor declared tne motion carried and tne Ordinance passed as read. Alderman Scrilagel instructed tne City Clerk to send a copy of this Ordinance with Plats attached to each of the nail- roads asking tnem to snow passage of tnis Ordinance on all fug ture bollitons. Alderman Ahbe seconded tnis motion and the roll was called with tne following result Ayes Alderman Collet, Anbe, Heesch, Suster, Scrnlagei, hinder, wettin, Lacey, Yinaoo and Enz:eri- bacher None voting ivay tne luayor declared tne motion carried. Mayor Hamrnerl suomitted tne name of Ueorge nasborn and appointed him as a Special Policeman. Alderman Lacey moved tnat the appointment oe confirmed. Alderman Heescn seconded this motion and the same carried by vote of acclamation. The following letter was presented to the council: Mr. Fayette Merrill, City Clerk, City of Des Plaines Des Plaines, 111. My dear Ir. Merrill: - It is the desire of our Committee to raise sufficnty funds to carry on tne work of the Infant Welfare Clinic and in order to do this it was deemed necessary, at our last meeting, to ask tine individual citizens of this community to contrioute a small amount oy way of purchasing- tags. 243 Octooer tweirty-riftn rias oeen set aside for this particular purpose and before proceeding further we desire to secure the permission of the City Council. Ise would, therefore, appreciate if you will Kindly brim this matter uefore this hon- oraole body and advise us at your earliest convenience their_ pleasure in the matter. Alderman Collet seconded this motion and the same carried oy vote of acclamation. The following letter was presentee to the Council d'i. Lt. 15 Octooer 17th, time, Ir. Fayetteierrill, City Cleric Des rlaines, ill. Dear Sir: We have been advised oy our Goiiection .Department that there is still :100.00 due as an extra on the incinerator contract, and also that there is 449.b1 interest due as the interest on the bonds was not paid when aur. We would 'lice to get this matter cleaned up, aha off our booics, and if your city will pay us the .1oo.00 extra, we will cancel the interest charge of p49.b1. ,e asic that you please taice oris matter up with your Council, and secure their approval, and send us cnecK for :100.00. Alderman Enzenbacner moved tnat the letter oe tabled and that the City Cleric be instructed to notify the rittsburgn Des uioines Co. that according to the City records no money was due this Company.
