CITY COUNCIL OF THE my OF DES PLAINES HELD
IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS ON THE 28th MAY OF
APRIL A. D. 1930 AT THE HOUR OF 9 o'clock P.M.
Mayor Hammerl called the meeting to order with Alderman
Collet, Ahbe, Heesch, Suster, Kinder, Sehlagel, Schroeder, Lacey
Knabb, and. Enzenbacher answering to roll call. The Mayor explained
that this was an adjourned meeting of the City Council to consider
any business that might come before the Council at this time.
The City Clerk presented the following ordinance for second
reading.
AN ORDINANCE
"AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE
FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY OF DES PLAINES A
qUIT-CLAIM 'DEED TO LOT 5 BLOCK 7 IN IRA BROWNS
ADDITION TO DES PLAINES*.
Alderman Ehabb moved that the ordinance be passed as read. 'Alder-
man Schroeder seconded this motion and the roll was called with the
following result: (Ayes) Alderman Collet, Ahbe, Heesch, Suster,
Kinder, Schlagel, Schroeder, Lacey, Knabb and Enzenbadher. Nane
voting Naye the Mayor declared the motion carried and the ordinance
passed as read.
The City Clerk then presented the following petition to the
City Council:
TO THE MAYOR AITD CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DES PLAINES:
PETITION TO DISCONNECT
Now comes the undersigned of the County of Cook and.
State of Illinois, and respectfully represents unto your
Honorable Board that he if the owner of the following
described property, to -wit:
The Easterly Five Hundre (500) feet of
Lot Nine (9) County Clerk's Division of

unsubdivide lNorthwest
quarter (NW ), East Half (Et) of Section
Twenty-one 21), Township Forty-one (41)
North, Range Twelve (12), East of the
Third. Principal Meridian;
the said property being on the border and within the
boundary of the City of Des Plaines; that the said
property is not laid out into city or village lots
or blocks, but is a vacant, unsubdivided tract of
land.
Your petitioner further respectfully represents unto
this Board that since the annexation of the said property
by the City of Des Plaines no special asseaments or taxes
have been levied against the said property which have gone
into collection and that there is now no assessment or tax
due or past due on the said property.
Your petitioner respectfully prays unto your Honor-
able Board that an ordinance may be passed by you Honor-
able Board disconnecting the said land from the City of
Des Plaines.

The following ordinance was then presented far first reading.

Alderman Heesch moved that the rules of the City Council be dispensed
with and the ordinance be putbefore the Council for passage on first
reading. Alderman Ahbe seconded this motion and the roll was called
with the following result: (Ayes) Alderman Collet, Ahbe, Heesch,
Suster, Kinder, Schlagel, Schroeder, Lacey, Knabb, and Enzenbacher.
None voting Naye the Mayor declard the motion as carried and the
ordinance before the Council for consideration.
Alderman Heesch moved that the ordinance be passed as read.
Alderman Collet seconded this motion, and the toll was called with
the following result. (Ayes) Alderman Collet, Abbe, Heesch, Suster,
Kinder, Schlagel, Schroeder, Lacey, Knabb and Enzenbacher. None
toting Naye the Mayor declared the motion carried and the ordinance
passed as read.
The following ordinance was presented for first reading.
AN ORDINANCE
REGULATING MOTOR VEHICLES FOR THE CARRIAGE
OF PASSENGERS FOR HIRE IN THE CITY OF DES
PLAINES, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS AND PROVID-
ING A PENALTY POR. VIOLATIONS THEREOF.
Same was re* laid over for second reading.
Considerable time was spent by the City Council in discuss-
ing the question of a lot line at the corner of Harding Avenue and
Laurel Avenue. The City Engineer suggested that in order to correct
an error that had occured several years previous to this date cer-
tain tax title lots might be given to property owners now owning

property that actualy was within the boundry of Laurel Avenue « .
The matter was dropped for the present with the intentions to take
it up at a hater date.
The City Engineer reported a lake f o z 'at the Seeger
Road canoeing at the Northwestern caused by construction work done
on the 3rd track, and Alderman Eneenbacher moved that the City
Clerk be instructed to write the Construction Engineer of Val
Ail Road Company asking them to correct their construction work
at this point in order to provide proper drainage for the roadw.
Alderman Schroeder seconded this motion and the same carried by
vote of acclamation.
There being no further business to come before the Council
on motion duly made and seconded and unanimously carried, same
adjourned.
