He refered the item to the City Attorney for an ordinance. The Clerk informed the Council he had received a letter from Illinois Commerce Commission regarding increase of Chicago'and Northwestern Railway fares. Sanitary District Sewer Permit No. 1952-63. Engineer Fletcher had reguested a permit from the Sanitary District regarding sewer on Bussee Highway. On motion by Alderman Hansen and seconded by Behrel the Mayor and Clerk were authorized to sign and execu tf the permit. The Clerk informed the Council he had received complaints of zoning violations at the following places: Lutz's Floor Comerings, 1705 Stockton Avenue Robert I. Syverson, 605 Greenview Avenue Robert: Ekvall, 893 Hollywood Avenue Ti. Mayor refered the violations to the Building Commissioners. Eugene Grupe appointed regular police patrolman. The Clerk informed the Connell the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners had appointed Eugene Grupe regular police patrolman as of June 23, 1952. The Clerk informed the Council he had received the audit reports on the Water and General°Accounts, also that the Special Bssessment audity had been completed last week. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Kenneth G. Meyer who presided with Alderman Hansen, Davis, Wolf, Tures, Behrel, Schallawitz, McKay, Clement, Morava, and Auck responding to roll call. Official Reports. - The Clerk submitted the monthly report of Treasurer L. C. Barrett. wilding Uommissioner A. Rieck reported the followad in investigations of reported zoning violations. Investigation - - 7-17-52 Mr. Ekvall is in the printing business in Lhicago and because of moving his location recently, he has some painting paper stored in his base- ment, and each marling he removes some of the paper in his car and takes it to his place of business. No printing being performed at his home address. Investigation 7-17-52 The Mayor referred the report of Lutz's Floor Coverings, 1705 Stockton Aver to City Attorney. Alderman Wolf reported that the Finance and Public Building Commissions investigated and that the bid of Central Heating Company of $3,350.00 for boiler, oil burner and installation at Municipal Garage is comparatively acceptable. That the Commission recommends that the contract for same be awarded to Central Heating Company, 1032 Zee Street. On motion by Alderman Wolf end second by Tures the report was concurred in. The Mayor refer a ,Plat drafted by Alderman Auck to the Public Building Commission regarding the seating of fourteen alderman. Alderman dement introduced Mr. H. Evert Kincaid, R. Prof. Eng., 105 W. Madison Street, Chicago, who spoke regarding a survey of the City on planning and zoning. If and when it becomes necessary or desirable for the Bali Telephone Company to progress its activities in or through the City, we suggest the Company bring each project before the City Council, requesting specific permissions. Henrich Dear Sir: In reply to the Committee Report dated July 14, 1952, the Des Plaines Traffic Commission offers the following suggestions: No. 1. We suggest that because of the great amount of traffic, no parking be permitted at any time on Thacker Street from Lee Street west to the Sooline Railroad. No. 2. We suggest that an ordinance be passed legalizing the signs already posted on Laurel Avenue between Thacker Street and Prairie Avenue which read, "No Parking" on one side of the street
