informed the Council he had received a petition June 3, 1952, for a ref-
erendum for annexation. The motion was made by Alderman Hansen and seconded
by Davis to hold the referendum at the next City General election. The
Mayor pro tem put the question and at a request tie Clerk cabled the roll
with the following result: Ayes: Alderman Haagen, Davis, Wolf, Tures,
Schallawitz, McKay, Clement, Morava, and Auck. Nays: None. The Mayor
pro tem thereupon declared the motion carried.
Approve Burgess River Park Addition Plat. The Clerk submitted
a plat approved by the Plan Commission. After discussion the motion was
made by Alderman McKay and seconded by Morava to approve the plat. The
motion was then made by Alderman Tures and seconded by Auck to refer the
plat to the Municipal Development Committee. The Municipal Development
committee recommended to approve the plat. The motion to refer the plat
to the committee was then withdrawn and the Mayor pro tem put the question
to approve the plat. The clerk called the role with t he following result:
Ayes: Alderman Hansen, Davis, Wolf, Schallawitz, McKay, Clement, and Morava.
Nays: Alderman Tures and Auck. The Mayor pro tem thereupon declared the
motion carried.
APPROVAL OF BILLS. Alderman McKay Chairman of the Finance Committee
presented the following.proposed resolution:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
. CITY OF DES PLAINES, THAT THE FOLLOWING
BILLS ARE DUE AND PAYABLE AND THAT THE MAYOR
ANDCITY CLERK BE AND ARE HEREBY AUTHORIZED
TO MAKE PAYMENT FOR SAME.
(Schedule of bills placed before each Alderman and affixed to resolution,
and on file with the City Clerk.) The Motion was made by Alderman McKay
and seconded by Hansen to adopt the proposed resolution. The Mayor pro tem
put the question and the Clerk called the r oll with the following result:
Ayes: Alderman Hansen, Davis, Wolf, Tures, Schallawitz, McKay, Cement,
Morava, and Auck. Nays: None. The Mayor pro tem thereupon declared
the motion carried.
Alderman Clement refered the item of a streetlight to be placed
on Fifth Avenue between Greenview and Prairie to the Street ''om nittee.
Alderman Hansen made the motion which was seconded by Tures
that a letter be sent protesting the proposed ammunition dump at O'Hare
- Airport. After discussion on motion by Alderman Wolf and second by
Schallawitz it was refered to the Public Protection Uoammittee.
ADJOURNMENT. The motion was made by Alderman Hansen and seconded
by Davis to adjourn. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon
the Mayor pro tem declared the motion carried and the meeting regularly
adjourned.

following resolution be adopted:

BE Tr! RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Des Plaines that the
plan. of City Engineer, E. N. Fletcher, regarding proposed parking lots in the
City of Des Plaines contained in plats and plans hereto attached, consisting of
four sheets in all, the first showing the location of the proposed parking lots
and the second, third and fourth showing details respectively of parking lots
1, 2,4 and Al with reference to capacity, locations of parked cars and estimates
of quantities of construction material required, shall be•. and the same are hereby
approved.
EE 1T FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Engineer's report of May, 1952, containing
estimates of cost of land and cost of construction of proposed parking lots
1, 2, 3 and 4 and together with estimated income and disbursements and consisting
in all of four pages, shall be and the same is hereby approved.
The Mayr at the question and the Deputy Clerk called the roll with t he
following result. Ayes: Alderman Hansen, Davis, Tures, McKey, Clement, Morava,
and Auck. Nayst None. The Mayor thereupon declared the motion carried and the
resolution adopted.
Gas station owners attended the Council meeting to protest the organisation
of the Union.
