City Clerk
The City of Des Plaines
Illinois
Dear Mr. Henrich:
In reply to yomr report dated September 4, and the letters attached
dated August 30, written by a committee of citizens living on Wolf Road
(TRAFFIC COMMISSION LETTER CON~TD.)
between the Cumberland Circle and•Rand Road, we wish to report that this was
dicusssed at length, and the following was unanimaously recommended:
The load limit regi sted at 12,000 ( we assume pounds) would not be
feasible because local oil and other heavy duty trucks would be in violation
of the ordinance when making many of their local deliveries.
Second, that since no school is involved, we recommend that the
speed limit should be'twenty-five miles per hour instead of their suggested
fifteen miles per hour.
Third, we reowmmend the creation of a boulevard ordinance, and that
throught trucks be rerouted on some other highway.
We wish to recommend to the City Council that our load limit ordinance
of 6,000 pounds, which was passed several years age, be revised.
Respectfully yours,

Mrs. Kub's Letter Cont'd.
The Southerly 150 feet measured on West line of Lot 5
in Whitcomb's Division of part of the Northwest
Quarter of Section 21, Townhip 41 North,Range 12 East
of the 3rd P.M. in Cook County,Illinois.
The above property is presently zoned for family dwellings and
subject to certain restrictions under your code.
The Character of the property and of the surrounding neighbor-
hood has greatly altered since the original zoning was made. On two
sides of the property are exceedingly busy highways or streets and the
property is no longer suitable for the use originally designated.
Due to the National emergency, housing for local residents and
for employees of defense plants is not only highly desirable, but a
practical necessity if the normal growth of the City is desired.
It is contemplated by the owner that if you will rezone the
above described land for multiple family dwellings, she will erect highly
attractive apartments on the site.
Accordingly, my client respectfully petitions for a rezoning or
change in use of the above described land to a commercial or multiple
family dwelling use.
Very truly yours,
Francis J. Nosek
