PETER J. MANZ APPOINTEIJ TO CIVIL SERVICE COMISSIO^d. On motion by
Alderman Halverson, and second by Hansen, the appointment of Peter J. Manz to
the Civil Service Commission for a term of one year was approved.
ELECTRICAL COIVIMISSION REAPPOINTED. On motion by Alderman Halverson,
and second by Baines, the Council approved the Mayor's reappointment of the
following as members to the Electrical Commission:

GNIOT BROTHERS SERVICE STATION AWARDED GASOLINE BIL`. The motion was
made by Alderman Baines, and seconded by Morava, that the City Clerk open the
gasoline bids. The following bids were received:

The Mayor referred the bids to the Finance Committee and declared a
recess. After reconvening, the motion was made by Alderman Baines, and seconded
by Hansen, that the bid be awarded to Gniot Brothers Service Station, the lowest
bid of 1.9 cents per gallon.
After a discussion regarding the question of some residences being
built under the number of square feet according to ordinance, and that some
variations may have been made by Building Inspector on recommendation of the
Architectural Commission, the Mayor referred the matter to the Municipal
Development Committee, Building Inspector, Mayor, Aldermen Baines and Clement.
On motion by Alderman Davis, andsecond by Halverson, the Clerk was
instructed to write to the Weller Creek Sanitary District, informing themto
keep Weller Creek free of debris, so that the tile on Wolf Road does not be-
come clogged, causing the creek to overflow.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES. The motion was made by Alderman Halverson,
and seconded by Morava, to approve the minutes of June 6, 1949. The motion
was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the Payor declared the notion carried.
ADJOURNMENT. The motion was made by Alderman '`golf, and seconded by
Vavrinek, to adjourn. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the
Mayor declared the motion carried, and the meeting regularly adjourned.
