Dear Sir:
I am submitting herewith for your'investigation and approval one sat of
preliminary plans for the proposed project on Wolf and Algonquin Road.
It is my understanding that you have gone over this project with Mr. C. F.
Paschen, Ass't. Chief Engineer, of the Cook County Highway Department quite some-
time ago, and we would like to review this project and have you approve these
plans.
It will also be necessary for the Village Board to pass a resolution
similar to the enclosed form and submit same properly signed and`sealed to this
department for our files.
Will you kindly let Mr. Paschen know as soon as possible if these plans
meet with your approval so that we may submit a resolution and plans to the
State Highway Department for approval in the near future.

RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS
OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD MARCH
22nd. 1949.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Des Plaines,
Gook County, Illinois, has canvassed the votes cast at an election held on
Tuesday, March 22nd, 1949, for the purpose of voting on the proposition
of making improvements and issuing sewer revenue bonds therefor, has
made a finding and is ready to declare the results thereof;
NOW, THEREFORE, Re it Resolved by the City Council of the City
of Des Plaines, Cook County, Illinois.
SECTION 1. The City Council finds that at the election held
on Tuesday, March 22nd, 1949, there were 4435 ballots cast on the
proposition:
Shall the existing sewerage system of the
City of Des Plaines, Cook County, Illinois,
be improved and estended, and shall Sewerage
Revenue Bonds of said City be issued for
the purpose of constructing such improve—
ments and extensions to the sewerage system
of said City in the aggregate amount
of $930,000, dated January 1, 1949, One
Thousand Dollars ($1,000,00) denomination
numbered consecutively from 1 to 930, in—
clusive; bearing interest at the rate of
three and one half per cent (3 1/2%) per
annum from date thereof until paid, all as
provided for in and by an Ordinance entitled:
"An ORDINANCE authorizing the improvements
of the sewerage system of the City of Des
Plaines, Cook County, Illinois, and provid—
ing for the issue of $930,000 Sewerage Rev—
enue Bonds of said City for the purpose of
defraying the cost of constructing such
improvements, prescribing all details of said
bonds, and providing for the collection,
segregation and destribution of the revenues
of the sewerage system of said city for the
purpose of paying the cost of the operation
and maintenance thereof, providing an ade—
quate depreciation fund therefor, and paying
the principal and interest of said Sewerage
Revenue Bonds," passed on February 7th, 1949,
approved on Fevruary 7th, 1949, and published
on February 10th, 1949.

Gentlemen:
The Village of Des Plaines (now City of Des Plaines) has one of the three
outstanding tax titles outstanding against Lot 19 Block 5, J. C. Robinson's Addition to
Des Plaines, a Subdivision in E of Section 20-41-12. The tax deeds are as follows:

" 5059876 " 10-1-1912 " 10-10-1912
There are two other tax deeds, one being Document 564846, dated 7-30-1884,
recorded 8-24884, to John Carne Jr.; the other being Document 3029088, dated
1101-1900, recorded 11-5-1900, to Hiram Coombs. I am trying to bW up these tax
deeds also.
LETTER FROM EDWARD R. CARLTON, CONT'D.
The vacant lot is located on North side of Walnut Avenue, 150 feet East of
Center Street. It is 50X150. There are delinquent real estate taxes, and also many
specials unpaid. I can get.a tax search, if needed.
Title to the lot is in one Edward Keating, who acquired title in 1874. I
have been unable to locate him, or his heirs, but will continue nay search.
I am prepared to offer the City of Des Plaines 425.00 for its Quit -Claim Deed.
If mfr offer is accepted, the deed should be to Edward R. Carlton and Anne Hiller Carlton,
not in tenancy in common, but in joint tenancy.

WHEREAS, in consideration of said vacation CHARLES R. HUNTING AND ETHEL T.
HUNTING agreed. to convey to this City a portion of Lot 2 in Second Shore Acres
Subdivision: to provide a means of ingress and egress from the Des Plaines River
WHEREAS, said CHARLES R. HUNTING AND ETHEL T. HUNTING have conveyed to this
City the folowing described premises, to -wit:
That part of Lot 2 in Second Shore Acres Subdivision lying
East of the esaterlry line of River Drive as laid out in the
plat of Shore Acres Subdivision, recorded as Document No.
5860182, and South of line of said Lot 2 in Second Shore Acres

SUMMONS IN MANDAMUS CIRCUIT COURT - UMBACH CASE. The Clerk informed the
Council he had received a Summons in Mandamus in Circuit Court on the Umbach Case.
City Attorney Opeka informed the Council he appeared today and gave answer. He asked
to have the suit dismissed and expects a hearing next Friday.
ADJOURNMENT. The motion was made by Alderman Harm and seconded by Morava
to adjourn. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon the mayor declared
the motion carried and the meeting regularly adjourned.
