C. & N. W. RAILROAD LETTER ON BLOCKING WOLF ROAD CROSSING. The Clerk read
the following letter:
CHICAGO, October 9, 1948
Mr. Otto W. J. Henrich
City Clerk
,Des Plaines, Illinois
Dear Sir, -
Your letter to Mr. J. E. Gallup of October 5th, with reference to blocking
Wolf Road and Thacker Street crossings from 8:05 P.M. to 8:55 P.M. on Sept. 16, 1948,
.was turned over to me for handling.
I have investigated this delay and find on this particular date and time, that
one of our trains had a car that became bad order and it was necessary to set the car out
even before the crossing was cut.
I want you to know that we too do not condone our crews blocking these crossings,
and we are continuously after them to avoid same.
