PASS ORDINANCE, VETERANS HOUSING. The Clerk read for first reading the
following proposed ordinance entitled:

AN ORDINANCE
The motion was made by Aldermen Morava and seconded by Harm to suspend the
rules and place the proposed ordinance on passage. The Mayor put the question and the
Clerk called the roll with the following result: Ayes: Aldermen Johnson, Hansen,
Vavrinek, Kehe, Harm, McKay, Halverson, and. Morava. The Mayor declared a recess that
the Council might study the proposed ordinance with Building Inspector Sc'iarringhausen.
Alderman `°'olf made is appearance during the r --cess. After the Council reconvened
Alderman Kehe made the motion which was seconded by Morava to pass the porposed ordinance.
The Mayor put the question and the Clerk called the -roll with the following result:

we are in receipt of a request from the Riverview Civic Association to
have the City Council look into the proposition of putting a sidewalk on the South
school property and the priv^te property adjacent to the school, running east and
west along Everett Street to keep the children off of the street going to and from
school.
Kindly advise us as to your action in this matter.

CALL TO ORDER. The Mayor being in consultation with the Plan Commission
requested City Clerk Henrich to call the meeting to order during his absence, with
Aldermen Johnson, Hansen, Vavrinek, Wolf, Kehe, Harm, McKay, and Morava responding
to roll call. The motion was then made by Alderman Johnson and seconded by Alderman
Morava to appoint Alderman H. Kehe Mayor pro tem. The Clerk put the question and
called the roll with the following result: Ayes: Aldermen Johnson, Hansen, Vavrinek,
Wolf, Kehe, Harm, McKay, and Morava. Nayes: None. The Clerk thereupon declared the
motion carried and Alderman Kehe took the Chair.
MR. P. J. LUCEY REPRESENTING RFSSURECTION HOSPITAL. Mayor pro tem Kehe
informed the Council Mr. Lucey representing Ressurection Hospital desired to speak
regarding the plans for a new hospital. Mr. Lacey said they would like permission
for solicitation for money and also a proclamation issued by the Mayor at the time
they were prepared to solicitate. Mr. Lucey then introduced Mr. Jon M. Jonkel who
