MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DES PLAINES, ILLINOIS, HELD IN THE ELEANOR ROHRBACH MEMORIAL COUNCIL CHAMBERS, DES PLAINES CIVIC CENTER, MONDAY, JUNE 17, 1991 The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Des Plaines, Illinois, was called to order by City Clerk McAllister at 8:22 p.m. in the Eleanor Rohrbach Memorial Council Chambers, Des Plaines Civic Center on Monday, June 17, 1991. Roll call indicated the following aldermen present: Childers, Christiansen, Healy, Schneck, Hardiman, Sarlo, Chiropolos, Haupt. Also present were: City Manager Asaro, City Comptroller Peters, Commissioner of Public Works Matula, Deputy Fire Chief Albrecht, Police Chief Storm, Municipal Development Director Pagones, City Engineer Oakley, Human Resources and Services Director Panouses, and City Attorney Kolman. ELECTION OF MAYOR PRO TEM: PRAYER AND PLEDGE: WELCOME/CLINICAL GOVERNMENT PROG. STUDENTS: MINUTES: BILLS PAYABLE: Moved by Sarlo, seconded by Schneck, to elect Alderman Chiropolos as Mayor Pro Tern during the absence of Mayor Albrecht. Motion declared carried. The opening prayer was given by Father E. M. Lionikis, St. John The Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Mayor Pro Tern Chiropolos welcomed the students from Maine West High School who are participating in the 1991 Clinical Government Program. This program, initiated by Eric Edstrom, Social Science Chairman at Maine West High School (retiring this year) and the late City Clerk Eleanor Rohrbach, is now in its 16th year. Moved by Sarlo, seconded by Haupt, to approve minutes of regular meeting of the City Council held June 3, 1991, as published. Corrections: Page Three, Paragraph Two, Line Thirteen, add "Alderman Childers voted no."; Page Three, Paragraph Six, Line Three, should read: "west of Potter Road .. ;" and Page Four, Paragraph Four, Line Seven, should read: "Greenview Avenue .....
