THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CIVIC CENTER
MONDAY, February 16, 1976
CALL TO ORDER: The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Des Plaines was called to order by Mayor Herbert Ii. Behrel at 8:05 P .
1=4. in the City Council Chambers, Des Plaines Civic Center.
ROLL CLLL :Roll CAll indicated tine following aldermen present:
Koplos, Sullivan, Olen, Leer, Brannigan, Kisslinger,
Birchfield, Erbach, Sarlo, lleyer, Seitz, Ward. Absent were
Aldermen Szabo, Bolek, Kraves, and Abrams.
Also present were: City Comptroller Blietz, City Treasurer Mahon, Police
Chief Hintz, Fire Chief Corey, Police Captain Blume, Environmental
Officer Lind.ahl and City lit torney Hug.
PRAYER & The meeting opened with prayer by City Clerk Rohrbach,
PLEDGE followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
MINUTES: Moved by Seitz,. seconded by Meyer, to approve the Minutes
of the regular meeting held February 2, 1976, as published.
Motion declared carried.
_WELLE R CREEK Moved by Koplos, seconded by Olen, to adopt the
recommenda
STABILIZATION tion of Water and Sewer Committee that the amount of
PROJECT $44,149.75 be transferred from the Revenue Sharing Fund. into
the Des Plaines-Mt. Prospect Weller Creek Project Escrow
Account, and that a final payment of $47,654.76 for the
Des Plaines portion of the work be made to the George W.
Kennedy Construction Co. in connection. with this project.

OAKTON ST. Moved by Koplos, seconded by Olen, to adopt the
recommendation
RETENTION of Water and Sewer Committee that the City Authorize an
BASIN & expenditure of $4,580.00 for the necessary labor and
materials
MT. PROSPECT for necessary repairs of the Oakton Street Retention
Basin
RD. LIFT and Mt. Prospect Rd. Lift Stations, waiving the usual bid
STATIONS procedure. Upon roll call, the vote was:

THA CKER ST. Moved by Kolos, seconded by Kisslinger, to adopt the
WATER PLANT recommendation of Water and Sewer Committee that the City
BR 1- STOL purchase one Bristol Meter for the Thacker Street Water Plant
METER from the Bristol Co., in the amount of $984.00 waiving the
usual bid procedures. Upon roll call, the vote was:

Kisslinger, Bircifield, Erbach, Sarlo, Meyer,
Seit:~, Ward, Mayor Behrel

WATER Moved by Koplos, seconded by Olen, to adopt the recommendation
AGREEMENT of Water and Sewer Committee to authorize Mayor and City
Clergy
Citizens to sign amendment to the Agreement for purchase of Water
Utility Co. between Citizens Utility Co. and the City of Des Plaines,
increasing the cost to 37.33 per 1,000 gallons. Motion
declared carried.
