041976440 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DES PLAINES, ILLINOIS, HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CIVIC CENTER MONDAY, April 19,1976 CALL TO ORDER: The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Des Plaines was called to order by Mayor Herbert H. Behrel at 8:07 P.M. in the City Council Chambers, Des Plaines Civic Center. ROLL CALL: Roll Call indicated the following aldermen present: Koplos, Szabo, Sullivan, Olen, Bolek, Leer, Brannigan, Kisslinger, Birchfield, Erbach, Kraves, Sarlo, Meyer, Seitz, Abrams, Ward. Also present were: City Comptroller Blietz, Police Chief Hintz, Fire Chief Corey, Acting Building Commissioner Trost, City Engineer Bowen, Director of Zoning and Planning Richardson, Commissioner of Public Works Schwab, Assistant Comptroller Placko, and City Attorney Hug. PRAYER & The meeting opened with prayer by Rev. James Jackson, PLEDGE pastor of United Church of Christ, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. MINUTES: Moved by Sarlo, seconded by Meyer, to approve the Minutes of the regular meeting held April 5,1976, as published. Correction: Page Five, Paragraph Two, Ordinance Z-5-76. Delete Alderman Bolek from AYES changing total to 13 and insert Alderman Bolek in NAYS, changing total to 1. Following correction, Motion to approve declared carried. AGREEMENT David R. Wolf & City Moved by Abrams, seconded by Meyer, to adopt the recommenda- tion of City Code and Judiciary Committee to enter into agreement between City of Des Plaines and David R. Wolf relative to retirement from the Fire Service and further to authorize Mayor and City Clerk to execute Agreement dated April 19, 1976. SOCRATES RAND COTTAGE RECREATIONAL VEHICLES PARKING PETITIONS Oakton St. Parking ADJOURNMENT: Mr. Ted Napier and Mrs. Sue D~Hondt addressed the City Council requesting permission to relocate the ~~Socrates Rand Cottage" presently located at 1396 Jefferson Street on the landscaped area in the "Old North School" parking lot. Following discussion, the matter was referred to Building, Grounds and Parking Lots Committee for study. Alderman Erbach's request for restrictions having to do with parking of Recreational Vehicles on residential streets, particularly narrow streets, with suggestion that width of street be criteria for regulation, was referred to Streets and Traffic Committee. Petition containing approximately 200 signatures requesting twenty minute parking only on Oakton Street was referred to Streets and Traffic Committee.
