1. Building Design Standards for Surrounding Communities
Staff created an overview of how surrounding communities regulate building design and compare those approaches
with Des Plaines’ current standards. The discussion will include major regulatory tools, a summary of local design
requirements, and case study examples. This item was requested by the Planning and Zoning Board at its September
9, 2025 meeting.
