CALL TO ORDER: The regular meeting of the City Council of the C]ty of Des Plaines was called to order by Mayor Herbert II. Behrel at 8:05 P.M. The m~eting 011ened with a prayer by Father David McCarthy, Assistant Pastor of St. Zachary's Church followed by the pledge of allegiance to the flag. HOLL CALL: Roll Call indicated the following aldermen present: Bolek, Figard, Czuhakowski, Wagner, Swanson, ~reneh, Martin, Bonaguidi, Rateike, Szabo, Prickett. Present also were City Comptroller Blietz, Marshall of Police Kcnnicott, Police Captal.n Hintz, Fire Marshall Arndt, Fire Capt::dn Haag, Commissioner of Public Works Warn]cke, Building Commissioner Schuepfer, City Engineer Fletcher, and City Attorney D]Leonardi. MINUTES: It was moved by Alderman Prickett and seconded by Alderman Rateike that the Minutes of the r~gular meeting of January 17, 1966, le approved as written. The City Clerk made corrections on Page Seven, Paragraph 8, changing the word JTigh to Highway and on par;e eight, Paragraph 2, chang]ng the word foot to yard. It was moved by Alderman Martin and seconded by Alderman French that Council concur in said report. Consider- able discussion followea concerning the proposed plat containing a Cul De Sac rather than a street and also questioning whether or not a street near the railroad would he feasible. It was moved by Alderman S~abo and seconded by Alderman Bolek to table the motion and refer said plat back to the Municipal nevclopment Committee and Plan Commission for further study and report. After considerable discussion concerning the p roperty to be benefited directly by the new bridge, and the future development of the area, Alderman French and Alderman Figard withdrew heir motion to advertise for bids and deferred a decision of the Committee for two weeks. Street Improvements and Estimates MFT --- Alderman French, Chairman of the·Streots and Traffic Committee, reported that saitl C6mmittee has investigated the 117 street improvements and estimates contained in the four resolutions to be submitted to the State of Illinois for use of MFT funds .to be known as Section 70, 71CS, 73CS, and 72CS, and has found that rrevious approval for these projects to be estimated and prepared for state approval ~as gtv~n by Council except for Section 73-CS (the improvement of Everett tane from Plainfield Avenue to Wehster Lane), and.recommend· the approval of the said resolutions by the City Council.
