MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DES PLAINES, ILLINOIS, HELD IN THE ELEANOR ROHRBACH MEMORIAL COUNCIL CHAMBERS, DES PLAINES CIVIC CENTER, WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 3, 1984 CALL TO ORDER: The Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Des Plaines was called to order by Mayor John E. Seitz at 10:25 P.M. in the Eleanor Rohrbach Memorial Council Chambers, Des Plaines Civic Center. ROLL CALL: Roll Call indicated the following aldermen present: Muehlenbeck, Volberding, Bonk, Martin, Wetter, Schneck, Kisslinger, Adams, Hardiman, Dini, Addante, Ward, Zanca. Absent were Aldermen Kolinski, Gebert and Chiropolos. Also present were: Fire Chief Gedroic, Municipal Development Department Director Richardson, Chief Inspector -Fire Prevention. Bureau/Captain Lechner, Municipal Development Department Deputy Director Trost, Adminis- trative Assistant Taylor and City Attorney Smith. PRAYER AND PLEDGE: VARIATIONS, DES PLAINES LUMBER CO., 1000 LEE ST.: ADJOURNMENT: There was a moment of silent prayer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Moved by Volberding, seconded by Hardiman, to adopt the recommendation of the Building Code Committee re request for variations from Des Plaines Lumber Company, 1000 Lee Street, as follows: 1. To grant variation to allow 14,000 square foot steel storage shed and fire sprinkler system pending approval of ISO. 2. To grant variation to allow 5 -year paving program for loading and unloading area only and not include floor of proposed 14,000 square foot steel storage shed. 3. To grant variation to allow 5 years to install permanent toilet facilities in proposed 14,000 square foot steel storage shed but in the meantime petitioner be required to contract for portable toilet services. 4. That petitioner landscape parkway on south side of Oakwood Avenue from Lee Street to alley as approved by City. And City Attorney be authorized to draft necessary ordinance. The matter of 5' setbackof existing fence line from the property line to be taken up under a separate motion. Moved by Adams, seconded by Dini, to defer this matter to the next regular Council meeting. Moved by Hardiman, seconded Special Meeting of the City declared carried. Alderman adjourned at 10:36 P.M.
