"The ever present problem of flooding
continues to plague the City of Des Plaines. Your committee on sewers
is cognizant of the fact that on several occasions a bond issue to be
used to finance a sewer program for the benefit of the entire city has
been defeated.. Having met with the Finance Committee, Mayor, Super=
intendent of Public Works and various Aldermen as well as representa.
tives from civic associations, your committee has decided to once again
pursue the avenue of a sewer bond referendum so as to alleviate one
of the most serious problems confronting the city of Des Plaines at
this time. We, therefore recommend that the Mayor and the City Attorney
be authorized to take the necessary steps to bring about this referendum.
A project of this magnitude will take the endorsement of the entire
city administration and civic leaders of our community, and with a
concentrated effort we are confident that ibis problem will be solved.
Said report signed by all members of the Sewer and Finance Committees.
