05/19/1980CALL TO ORDER: 338. MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DES PLAINES, ILLINOIS, HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CIVIC CENTER, MONDAY, May 19, 1980. The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Des Plaines, Illinois was called to order by Mayor Herbert H. Volberding at 8:05 P.M. in the Council Chambers, Des Plaines Civic Center on Monday, May 19, 1980. ROLL CALL: Roll Call indicated the following aldermen present: Koplos, Kolinski, Dwiel, Kehe, Ensign, Whetstone, Prellberg, , Kisslinger, Birchfield, Erbach, Tomaszewski, Sarlo, Meyer, Seitz, Ward, Egan. Also present were: City Treasurer Swanson, City Comptroller Blietz, Acting Commissioner Public Works Matula, Health Director Branding, Police Chief Alfano, Fire Chief Gedroic, Building Commissioner Trost, Director of Planning and Zoning Richardson, Traffic Engineer Crowley, City Engineer Bowen, License Officer Hinde, Environmental Officer Lindahl, and City Attorney Smith. PRAYER AND PLEDGE: MINUTES: The meeting opened with prayer by Reverend Dr. Keith Davis, Pastor of Church of the Master -United Church of Christ, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Moved by Kehe, seconded by Dwiel, to approve the mintues of the regular meeting of the City Council held May 5, 1980, as published. Motion declared carried. SUBDIVISION Moved by Sarlo, seconded by Tomaszewski, to adopt the STREET LIGHTING recommendation of the Streets and Traffic Committee, that City Council reject all bids received for Subdivision Street Lighting, Contract #1, 1980, returning bid bonds or checks to bidders. Motion declared carried. Moved by Sarlo, seconded by Kehe, to adopt the recommendation of Streets and Traffic Committee to readvertise for bids for proposed Subdivision Street Lighting, Contract #1, 1980, based onnew specifications by City Engineer, to be returned to Office of City Clerk, 3:00 P.M.
