MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DES PLAINES, ILLINOIS, HELD IN THE ELEANOR ROHRBACH MEMORIAL COUNCIL CHAMBERS, DES PLAINES CIVIC CENTER, MONDAY, DECEMBER 20, 1982 CALL TO ORDER: The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Des Plaines was called to order by Mayor John E. Seitz at 8:10 P.M., in the Eleanor Rohrbach Memorial Council Chambers, Des Plaines Civic Center. ROLL CALL: Roll Call indicated the following aldermen present: Muehlenbeck, Kolinski, Dwiel, Kehe, Martin, Wetter, Prellberg, Kisslinger, Adams, Erbach, Tomaszewski, Dini, Chiropolos, Ward, Egan. Also present were: City Treasurer Swanson, City Comptroller Blietz, Commissioner of Public Works Matula, Police Chief Alfano, Fire Chief Gedroic, Acting Health Director McIntosh, Acting City Engineer Crowley, Acting Director Richardson of Municipal Development Department, Environmental Officer Lindahl, Administrative Assistant Taylor and City Attorney Smith. PRAYER AND PLEDGE: The opening prayer was given by Alderman Wetter on behalf of Rev. William Grice of the First Congregational Church, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. PRESENTATIONS: Mayor Seitz presented a Resolution of Appreciation to Kenneth J. Fredericks for his long and honorable record of service to the citizens of Des Plaines and, in particular, to its younger citizens. MINUTES: Mayor Seitz presented a Resolution of Appreciation to Constance Thomas Manika for her eight years of service as Manager of Henrich House, senior citizen facility in Des Plaines. Charles Fries, United States J.C.I. Senate, presented Police Chief Alfano a Bermuda shoulder patch to be displayed in the Des Plaines Crime Prevention Van. Moved by Erbach, seconded by Tomaszewski, to approve Minutes of the Executive Session of the City Council held November 15, 1982, as published. Motion declared carried.
