MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARING
FOR THE PROPOSED USE OF REVENUE
SHARING FUNDS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1983, HELD IN
THE ELEANOR RORHBACH MEMORIAL
COUNCIL CHAMBERS, DES PLAINES
CIVIC CENTER, MONDAY, NOVEMBER
15, 1982
CALL TO ORDER: The Public Hearing of the City Council of the City of
Des Plaines was called to order by Alderman John
Prellberg, Vice Chairman of the Finance & Insurance
Committee, at 7:00 P.M. Also present were Committee
member, Alderman Robert Martin, and City Clerk Donna
McAllister.
The purpose of this hearing was to hear proposed use of the 1983
Revenue Sharing Funds for the City of Des Plaines.
Alderman Prellberg announced that the required Legal Notice of Public
Hearing was published in the Des Plaines Suburban Times on November 4,
1982, which was stated by Alderman Prellberg as follows:
"Notice is hereby given that the City of Des Plaines, ILL, will
hold a Proposed Use Hearing for Revenue Sharing Funds on Monday,
November 15, 1982, Des Plaines Civic Center, Room 103, 1420 Miner
Street at 7:00 P.M. The estimated amount of unappropriated Entitlement
Funds is $889,600. The Amount of Entitlement Funds. which the City of
Des Plaines expects to receive in 1983 is $480,400. Citizens attending
this hearing shall have the right to provide written and oral comments
and suggestions respecting possible uses of Entitlement Funds."
The following organization representatives made presentations including
requested funding:

Clare Rucci, Vice President $10,000.00
Northwest Symphony Orchestra Association, Des Plaines
Ann C. Butler, President $ 1,200.00
Shelter, Inc., Arlington Heights
Patricia Beck, Executive Director $ 5,400.00
Alderman Prellberg then read letters from organizations requesting
funding:
Des Plaines Public Library $ 7,000.00
Fish of Des Plaines $ 700.00
Following presentations, the Public Hearing was adjourned at 7:25 P.M.
