11/02/1957551 MINUTES OF MEETING JUNIOR CITY COUNCIL SATIIEDAY-2OV.2 957 A special unofficial meeting of the City Council, held in the Council Room - City Hall on Saturday, November 2, 1957, at 1 PM. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Herbert H. Behrel. The Mayor informed the Teenagers that this was the first meeting of any Council to install Junior Council members which was spon- sored by the Optimist Club. The Mayor said the luncheon was served by the courtesy of the Elks Club No. 1526 and the bouton- nieres were donated by Marland Oil Com pany. The Mayor introduced Mr. Arvid Casler, President of the Optimist Club, who gave a short talk regarding so much has been said about the five percent group of violaters. He thought it was time to do something about the good ninety-five percenters. Mr. Harry Anderson, .Superintendent of Maine Township High School, was introduced. The Mayor then called on Mrs. J. Stackhouse to draw the names out of the box for the selection of Junior Officials. L. Sengstock. Magistrate Sengstock then gave a talk on duties of the officials regarding good government and that in fifteen or twenty years, the present Junior Council members may become regular',members.
