CANVASS SEWER AND CITY MANAGER ELECTION. (Cont'd.)
On motion by Alderman Schubert and second by Prickett. the Council approved the report.
Alderman Davis requested that he go on record opposing Saturday elections. His
main reason being the County Clerk's office closes at noon on Saturday and they are
unable to call about registered voters after that time.
Alderman Prickett commented on expense of Cumberland street lights. Superinten-
dent Warnicke reported to the Aldermen that an estimate of $1,000.00 was made to
repair the lights. One third of the lights are not in service The Mayor
appointed Alderman Davis to work with the Street Committee to confer on what is to
be done about replacement of the entire system.
At request of Alderman Nelsen, the Mayor referred the traffic condition on
Everett and White Streets to the Safety Council.
At request of Alderman Schubert, the Mayor referred to the Attorney the drafting
of an ordinance for two hour parking on both sides of Lee Street from Park Place to
PerryyStreet. Alderman Wolf requested the Attorney leave a blank space so he could
report about Pearson Street.
The Attorney was instructed to draft an ordinance for No Parking east side of
Des Plaines Avenue from Miner to Mill Street.
The Mayor referred a letter from Walgreens to the Street Committee regarding
parking of their delivery truck.
Alderman Dunlap reported to the Council on the proposed official plan map of the
meeting the four Aldermen had with Mr. Chamales.
The motion was made by Alderman Nelsen and seconded by Wolf to change Premier
Rose Gardens property from Research Laboratory to residential on the proposed
official plan map. The Mayor put the question and the Clerk called the roll:
Ayes: Alderman Martin, Behrel, Tistle, Nelsen, Davis, Dunlap, Wolf and Neff.
Nays: Alderman Prickett, McKay, Schubert, Tures and Wexler. The Mayor declared
the motion carriedl
The motion was made by Alderman Schubert and seconded by Wolf that the word
proposed be placed on the plan map so it would read proposed official plan map.
The Mayor put the question and the Clerk called the roll: Ayes: Alderman Martin,
Behrel, Prickett, Tistle, Nelsen, McKay, Davis, Schubert, Dunlap, Tures, Wolf, Neff
and Wexler. Nays: None. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
At suggestion of Engineer Fletcher the Mayor referred the proposed traffic
lights at Cora and Oakton to be changed to White and Oakton to
the Street Committee.
Mr. Schueman of Cumberland Terrace was allowed to speak regarding having a
special assessment for sewer on property along Weller Creek.
The motion was made by Alderman Behrel and seconded by Dunlap to adjourn the
meeting to November 22, 1955, at 8:00 P.M. The motion was voted upon by acclama-
tion.

CALL TO ORDER. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Kenneth G. Meyer with
Alderman Martin, Behrel, Prickett, Tistle, Nelsen, McKay, Schubert,! Dunlap, Tures,
Wolf, Neff and Wexler responding to roll call.
Alderman Neff reported the Code Committee had studied thebids on mimeographing
the codes and made the motion which was seconded by Prickett tlo award the bid to the
Samuelson Duplicating Company, 343 S. Dearborn Street, Chicago 4, Illinois. After

considerable discussion the Mayor put the question and the Clerk called the roll:

Superintendent Warnicke reported the need for the CO2 burner at Water Plant.
The motion was made by Alderman Wolf and seconded by Behrel that Superintendent
Warnicke with Water Committee be authorized to purchase equipment and install the
burner. The Mayor put the question and the Clerk called the roll: Ayes: Alderman
Martin, Behrel, Prickett, Tistle, Nelsen, McKay, Schubert, Dunlap, Tures, Wolf, Neff
and Wexler. Nays: IVB; ,The Mayor declared the motion carried.

MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL, DES PLAINES, ILLINOIS,
HELD IN THE COUNCIL ROOM, CITY HALL,
DECEMBER 5, 1955, AT 8:OOP.M.
CALL TO ORDER. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Kenneth G. Meyer who
presided with Alderman Martin, Behrel, Prickett, Tistle, McKay, Schulgert, Tures, Wolf,
Neff and Wexler responding to roll call. Alderman Dunlap was absent.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES. The motion was made by Alderman Tistle and seconded by Martin to
approve the minutes of November 21 and the adjourned meeting November 22, 1955. The
motion was voted upon by acclamation.
OFFICIAL REPORTS. The Clerk submitted the Clerk's and Building Commissioner's reports
for November.
Engineer Fletcher reported of errors on bid for No. 4 Well pump and recommended
the bids be returned and to readvertise for bids to be returned at December 19, 1955
meeting. On motion by Alderman Schubert and second by Tures the Council concurred in
the recommendation.
Alderman Davis and Nelsen appeared at this time.
DI MUCCI REZONING REJECTED. The Clerk read the recommendation of Zoning Board of
Appeals rejecting the rezoning of the Di Mucci property on the Southeast corner of
Rand and Mount Prospect Road. On motion by Alderman Davis and second by Martin the
Council concurred in the Zoning Board recommendation.
CITY ATTORNEY REPORT ON TREVELLIER CASE. The Clerk read the following report:
I have received the report of Master -in -Chancery Sheppard in the Trevellier Case.
He finds against us completely. His report recommends that the City's zoningooidi-
nance be declared invalid and void and that a gasoline station be allowed upon the
property in question, at the intersection of Golf, Wolf and Seegers Roads.
I have prepared and will shortly file the City's objections to such report.

REZONING AT CAMBRIDGE AND NORTHWEST HIGHWAY REFERRED BACK TO ZONING BOARD. Alderman
Schubert reported the Municipal Development Committee had investigated the rezoning
at Cambridge and Northwest Highway and found:
That in their opinion new evidence has come to light which the Zoning Board
should consider, namely that the Y.M.C.A. was placing money in escrow for the purchase
of the property. The Committee recommends that the matter be referred back to the
Zoning Board of Appeals for further consideration. The motion was made by Alderman
Schubert and seconded by Behrel to concur in the recommendation. The Mayor put the
