CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Mayor Herbert H. Behre'1 with
Alderman Swanson, Martin, Bonaguidi, Rateike, Leer, Shillington, Figard,
Czubakowski, and Carroll responding to roll call. The meeting was opened with.
a prayer with Rev. Weidlich and pledge of allegiance to the flag.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: On motion by Alderman Rateike and seconded by Swanson,
the minutes of July 6, 1964 were approved. -

On motion by Alderman Figard and seconded by Swanson the bids were referred to

On motion by Alderman Carroll and seconded by Leer, the City Attorney is to draft
an ordinance regarding bids on city supplies.
`L REPORTS: The Clerk submitted the report of the Police Department for
the second quarter and six month's report of the Fire Department. Engineer
Fletcher reported about sidewalk near water plant on Thacker St. and on motion
by Alderman Rateike and seconded by Bonaguidi the Engineer is to draft specifica-
tion and bida,to be advertised, returned August 3, 1964.
A resolution for sidewalk at Cumberland Station on Wolf Rd. was referred to the
Street Committee.
Engineer reported regarding sewer construction in Golden Manor to eliminate flood-
ing, that there was no appropriation but Council would need to find where the
money could be found for the work.
A report from Alderman Shillington on drainage was referred to the Building
Control and Inspection Committee.
Attorney Di yeonardi made several verbal reports.
APPROVE! TO ANNEX ROY BURGESS PROPERTY, 7417 WOLF RD.: On motion by Alderman Martin
and seconded by Bonaguidi the following report was approved by the Council:
"Your Committee on Municipal Development has investigated the above and has found
that the subject petitioner to annex Roy Burgess at 7417 Wolf Rd. requested that
his eingle family residence be annexed to the City of Des Plaines. We, your
Committee on Municipal Development therefore recommend that the property at 7417
Wolf Rd. be annexed to the City of Des Plaines after the proper form of request
is made to the City Attorney and that the City Attorney be authorized to draw
the necessary annexation ordinance."

DENY ANNEIATION LAND EAST OF POTTER ROAD: On motion by Alderman Martin and
seconded by Swgnson.the Council approved not to annex approximately 60 acres
east of Potter Road and north ofDempster.
AWARD LANDSCAPE BID TO LAWRENCE AND AHLMAN. INC.: The motion was made by Alderman
Rateike and seconded by Figard to award the landscaping bid for Fire Station No. 3
to Iawrence and Ahlman, Inc. for $2,31$.50. The Mayor put the question and the
Clerk called the roll with the following results:. Ayes: AldermanSwanson, Martin,
Bonaguidi, Rateike, Leer, Shillington, Figard, Czubakowski, and Carroll. Nays:
None. The Mayor declared the motion carried. •
REJECT ROOF REPAID BIDS FOR FIRE STATION NO. 2: Alderman Rateike made the'
following report: "Your Committee on Fire has investigated the above and
has found one bidder bid per Arch. drawings. Two bidders bid roofing only.
This is not responsive bidding. We, your Committee on Fire therefore recommend
that we readvertise for bids. John Geiger is to draw bid form and bidder
instructions so all bidders will bid complete job. Bids returnable August 17,
1964. Present bids to be returned to the bidders." On motion by Alderman Rateike
and seconded by Figard the Council approved the report.
There will be a Publi\ Buildings and Grounds Committee meeting July 27th at
7:00 P.M.
Request of Alderman Iter to refer the following three reports to the Traffic
Commission: Traffic on. Marshall Drive; Traffic at Illinois and Prospect Ave.;

SEWER CONSTRUCTION CRAIG MANOR SUB.: Alderman Bonaguidi made the following
report: "Wei your Committee on Sewer, recommend that the 33" storm sewer be
rerouted at its connection to the trunk line sewer in Miller Road as shown on
the attached plan,•and that one additional catch basin and one inlet be con-
structed in Debra Drive; also one catch basin, one inlet and one manhole be
constructed in Madelyn Drive in the•Craig Manor Subdivision. We, further re-
commend that the spam of $3,500.00 be appropriated for this work, and that the
City Engineer be instructed to obtain three quotations for this work; also that
this committee be authorized to award the work as soon as quotations can be
obtained." The motion was made by Alderman Bonaguidi and seconded by Shillington
to approve the report. The Mayor put the question and the Clerk called the
roll with the following results: Ayes: Alderman Rateike, Leer, Shillington,
Figard, Carroll,Czubakowski, Swanson, Martin and Bonaguidi. Nays: None The
Mayor declared the motion carried.
T SETTLE CLAIM OF MARIAN ALLEN: The motion was made by Alderman Bonaguidi and -
seconded by Figard to make a settlement per reca®mendation of $750.00. The Mayor
put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes:
Alderman Rateike, Leer,'Shillington, Figard, Carroll,Czubakowski, Swanson, Martin
and Bonaguidi. Nays: None. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
TO SETTLE CLAIM OF NANCY ANN GRAVES The motion was made by Alderman Bonaguidi
and seconded by Swanson to settle the claim for up to $1,000.00 per recommendation.
The Mayor put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following
results: Ayes: Alderman Rateike, Leer, Shillington, Figard, Carroll, Czubakowski,
Swanson, Martin and Bonaguidi. Nays: None. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
APPROVAL OF BILLS: Alderman Swanson presented the following resolution:

Martin and seconded by Tigard to concur in the report and City Attorney to draft
an ordinance.

Alderman Martin and seconded by Figard to approve the above plat. The Council
approved by acclamation. •

CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Herbert H. Behrel with Alderman Martib,
Bonaguidi, Rateike, Szabo, Prickett, Wright, Luellen, Shillington, Czubakowski,
Swanson and French responding to roll call. The meeting was opened with a prayer
by the Mayor and then the pledge of allegiance -to the flag.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: The motion was made by Alderman Prickett and seconded by
Martin to approve the minutes of July 20, 1964. The motion was approved by
acclamation.
OFFICI'AL REPORTS: The Clerk submitted the reports of Ray Kolze, Director of Civil
Defense, Health Officer for six months and Des Plaines Nurse and Welfare for the
past year. Building Commissioner Regnell and Attorney Di Leonardi made verbal
reports.
