APPLICATION FOR FOUR O'CLOCK :LIQUOR LICENSE: Thee above license application from DeVille Motor Hotel was referred to the License and Inspection Committee. A letter regarding Second Avenme Street improvement was referred to the Street Committee. Report from Greeley and Hansen on Chicago Water survey for Des Plaines and Mt. CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Mayor. Herbert H. Behrel, with Alderman Flauter, Figard, Prickett, Tistle Travis, Jackson, Bonaguidi, Rateike, Blume, Wright, and Moehling responding to roll call. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: The motion was made by Alderman Prickett and seconded - by Wright to approve the minutes of October 1, 1962. The motion was approved by acclamation vote. REAL ESTATE MULTIPLE LISTING SERVICE PRESENT TWO FLAGS: Mr. Charles Hodlmair pr4sented the two flags to the City Council from the above Service organization. The Mayor.accepted the flags with thanks. -OPEN PUMP HOUSE BIDS WELL NO. 7: On motion by Alderman Bonaguidi and seconded by Flauter the Clerk was instructed to open the above bids. OPEN BIDS ON ROCK SALT:' On motion by Alderman Prickett and seconded by Tistle the Clerk was instructed to open the above bids. Three bids for $12.30 per ton and one for 673.30 per ton were received. On motion by Alderman Blume and seconded by Rateike the bids were referred to the Water and Finance Committees and Superintendent of Public Works. OFFICIAL REPORTS? The Clerk submitted the reports of the City Treasurer and Building Commissioner for September, Comptroller's nine months report and the ' Health Officer's report for three months. TO EVERTISE BIDS FOR WATER MAIN: On motion by Alderman Muter and semonded by Figard the Council approved to advertise bids for water main frcam Well No. 7 -to Oakton St. Bids to be returned November 5th. STREET SWEEPER ACCIDENT: Supt. Warnicke reported of accident involving street sweeper with $2,000.00 damage. A sweeper has been rented until'the damaged sweeper is repaired. Both items to be paid by person causing the accident. SUPT..WARNICKE REPORTED CATER WELL NOT OPERATING: Engineer Fletcher said it would cost about one thousand dollars to pull well to inspect what repairs are • needed. Then bids could be advertised for repairs. The motion was made by Alderman Flauter and seconded by Figard to spend not to exceed $1,000.00 to pull the well. The Mayor put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: Alderman Rateike, Blume, Wright, Moehling, Flauter, Figard, Prickett, Tistle, Travis, Jackson and Bonaguidi. APPROVE ORCHARD LAKE SUB=PLAT: On motion by Alderman Blume , and seconded by Figard the Council approved the plat and authorized the Mayor and Clerk to sign plat upon receipt of bond or escrow agreement for improvements. APPROVE ZONING BOARD REPORT: On motion by Alderman. Blume and seconded"by Moehling the Council approved the rezoning of Lot 3 Block 4, Town Improvement Corp. at 2147 Touhy Ave. APPROVE ANNEXATION OF 3 LOTS IN DOUGLAS MANOR: On motionrby Alderman Blume and seconded by Flauter the Council approved the Municipal; Development Committee report to annex Lots N 1/2 of Lot 1, Lots 2 and 5 in Douglas Manor and City Attorney to draft ordinance. ILLINOIS POLICE ASSN. METING: The motion was made by Alderman Figard and seconded, by Bonaguidi to expend $125.00 for five police officers to attend the above meeting the 29th and 30th of October. The Mayor put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: Alderman Rateike, Blume, Wright, Moehling, Flauter, Figard, Prickett, Tistle, Travis, Jackspn and Bonaguidi. Nays: None. The Mayor declared the motion carried. A letter was received from Village Administrator of Northfield regarding Waste Disposal meeting at Glenview Village Hall October 18th at 8:00 P.M. which in- cludes all the north shore cities and villages, inviting the Des Plaines officials if interested to attend. APPROVE DRIVEWAYS AT TWO LOCATIONS OF CONVENIENT FOOD MART: Alderman Jackson made the following report: "1) Two 20 foot driveways, north side of Algonquin, 130 feet west of Wolf. 2) two 20 driveways. a) South side of Oakton, 115 feet east of Orchard. b) East side of Orchard. "Your Committee on Streets and Traffic has investigated the above and has foflnd 2'S -3- - 10/15/62 1) That the requested driveways are covered by State Department of Highways Permit No. 10-20217 MS009. 2) The requested driveways do not represent an unreasonable interruption of pedestrian or vehicular traffic. We, your Committee on Streets and Traffic, therefore recommend that the Superintendent of Public Works be authorized to issue permits for 4 twenty foot driveways as described in'the above State permit." On motion by Alderman Jackson and seconded by Travis the Council approved the report. APPROVE DRIVEWAYS FOR JOHN R. THOMPSON.COMPANY: On motion by Alderman Jackson and seconded by Blume the two driveways, one 27 foot on Mt. Prospect Road and one 26 foot driveway on, Rand Road were approved by the City Council. APPWE'TWO SIGN APPLICATIONS OF MOBIL OIL OD.: Alderman Blume made the follow- ing report: "Your Committee on Building Control and Inspection has investigated the above and has found applicant desires to construct a 271 X 616" internally illwninated sign at the service. station on the northwest corner of•River Road and Touhy 301 high and an identical sign at the service station on the north- west corner of Oakton and Lee Streets 201 above the ground (175.5 square feet each side). Property is zoned commercial. We, your Caanmittee on Building Control and Inspection therefore recommend that the applicant be granted per- mission to erect the aforementioned signs as requested." On motion by Alderman Blume and seconded by Travis the Council approved the • sign applications. APPROVAL OF BILLS: Alderman Prickett presented the following resolution: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF IES PLAINES THAT THE FOLLOWING BILIS ARE DUE AND 'PAYABIE AND THAT THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK BE AND ARE HEREBY AUTHORIZED TO MAKE PAYMENT FOR SAME.
