The meeting was called to order by Deputy Clerk Gladys. Buchholz and there being no quorum the meeting was adjourned to Monday, November 13, 1961 at 8:00 P.M. Gladys xf lz, Deputy Clerk. ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL DES PLAINES, ILLINOIS, HELD IN THE COUNCIL ROOM, CITY HALL, NOVEMBER 13, 1961 AT 8:00 P.M. The meeting was called -to order by Junior Mayor James Kunzer with Mayor Herbert H. Behrel presiding and with Alderman Davis, Bell, Jackson, Rateike, Blume, Wright, Luellen, Moehling, Figard, Prickett and Tistle responding to roll call. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: The motion was made by Alderman Prickett and seconded by Rateike to approve the minutes of October 16th and 30th. Alderman T istle requested a correction in October 30th minutes regarding underground storage of gasoline to be referred to the License and Inspection and Health Committees. The motion was then voted upon by acclamation with correction made. OPEN BIDS FOR WELL NO. 7: On motion by Alderman Figard and seconded by Bell the Clerk was instructed to open the above bids. Five bids were received. Milaeger Well and Pip Co., Milwaukee, Wis. Miller Artesian Well.Co., Brookfield, I11. Wehling Well Works, Beecher, ill. 67,789.00 Layne -Western Co., Aurora, I11. ' 64,800.00 65,789.5® 67,789.00 70,173.75 71,914.25 On motion by Alderman Wright and seconded by Luellen the bids were referred to the Water and Finance„Committees, City Engineer and Superintendent of Public Works. OFFICIAL REPORTS: Junior City Treasurer, Anndra Musser reported -on receipts and expenditures for October being placed on all the officials desks. 'The Junior City Comptroller, Doreen Boyle reported the report Of receipts for' - October had been placed on the officials desks. The Junior Building Commissioner, Patricia Battle, reported the monthly report of building permits had been` placed on the officials desks. Junior City Attorney, Laura Seeber made the' following report: "I wish to advise that the City has'obtained a stipulation from Attorney Oscar'Brotman, who repreaented Barry in the c ase of Barry versus City of Des Plaines.' This stipulation will permit us to have the Chancellor of. the Circuit Court of Cook County,. Fain Bs.Tucker, sign a decree in favor of the City of Des Plaines in accordance with the Master'a..report rendered ,. by Master in Chancery,; Philip Mitchel. You will recall that. thec ase'of Barry versus the City of Des Plaines involved the property at the northeast'oorner of Algonquin and River Roads where the plaintiff desired to erect fifty-four multi -family units and improve eighty-one parking stalls thereon. Judge -Tucker will sign the decree in favor of the City of'Des Plaines on Tuesday morning,i November 14th. -"I wish to relate further that the court papers for Special Assessmerit No. 179 have been filed in the County Court of Cook County; and on Thursday, November 9, we went before Judge Adesko, the County Judge, and he signed the decree confirming the appointment of the Commissioner and set December 18 as the date for the hearing on the confirmation of the assessment roll.
