TETTER FROM J. VANDERVAIL 1 65 EVERETT` The Mayor referred a copy of letter
sent to J. P. Tuthill regarding street damage to Engineer Fletcher.
STANDIEY REDNEWS RESIGNATION FROM FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSION. The Mayor read the
letter from Mr..Redmer resigning from the above Commission as he is moving from
Des Plaines. The Clerk was instructed to write a letter commenting him for
his' service.
SAFETY COUNCIL CONFERENCE. The motion was made by Alderman Jackson and seconded
by Blume that the Safety -Council be given $175.00 toward their expense to
attend conference in Miami,' Florida.- The Mayor put the question and the
Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: Blume, W right, Neff,
Moehlitg, Figard, Tistle, Massman, Bell, Jackson, Callaghan. Nays: None.
The Mayor declared the motion carried. - •
FOUR WAY STOP AT ORCHARD AND EVERETT.. At Alderman'Tistle's request the
Superintendent of Public Works is to place four-waystop for 60 day trial at
Orchard and Everett. The item was alsoreferred to the Street Committee.
ADJOURNMENT. The motion was made by, Alderman Bell and seconded by Massman'
to adjourn the meeting to Tuesday, July. 28, 1959. The motion was voted upon
by acclamation.

CITY COUNCIL,.DES.PLAINES, ILLINOIS, HELD
IN THE COUNCIL ROOM, CITY HALL, TUESDAY,
JULY 28. 1959 AT 8:00 P.M,
CALL TO ORDER. . The meeting was called to order by Mayor Herbert H. Behrel with
Alderman Tures, Wright, Moehling,.Figard, Tistle, Massman, Ball, Jackson, Rateike,
and Blume responding to roll call.
The Mayor informed the Council the meeting had been adjourned to consider purchase
of water billing machine.- After information given by the Clerk on three types of
machines, the motion was made by Alderman Tistle and seconded by Massman to
purchase the Burroughs Corporation Machine for $3,320.25. The Mayor put the
question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: Alderman
Tures, Wright, Moehling, Figard, Tistle, Massman, Bell, Jackson, Rateike, and Blume.
Nays: None. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
The Mayor referred a letter and forma on traffic safety to the Street Committee.
A request for driveway, at River Road and Touhy Avenue was referred to' Street Committee.
At Alderman Tistle's reques t the four=way stop at Orchard and Everett Streets was
referred to Street Committee and Traffic Commission.
The Mayor referred the Contiy Zoning on which there will be hearings was »referred
to Plan.Commission to study and report back to Council.
ADJOURNMENT. The motion was made ty Alderman Tures and seconded by Tistle to
