11/09/1977 Public HearingMINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARING ON USE OF GENERAL REVENUE SHARING FUNDS BY THE CITY OF DES PLAINES HELD November 9, 1977 at 7:30 P.M. Room 101, Des Plaines Civic Center The Public Hearing of the City of Des Plaines on the proposed use of General Revenue Sharing Funds was called to order by Mayor Volberding at 7:30 P.M. Mayor Volberding explained the General Revenue Sharing Federal Program stating that the estimated amount of unappropriated entitlement funds at January 1, 1978 is $53,300 and that the amount of entitlement funds which the City of Des Plaines expects to receive in the fiscal year of 1978 is $562,883. Kathy Luckritz, 1830 Northshort, representing the League of Women Voters submitted a written statement, attached hereto, as the consensus of the League of Women Voters of Des Plaines study of the Des Plaines city budget in April, 1977. Mr. Wilson Wadsworth, 1527 Silver Strand Circle, Palatine, Illinois, speaking for The Salvation Army Community Counseling Center, Des Plaines Office, requested $25,000 Federal Revenue Sharing Funds and submitted a written statement attached hereto. Those present at the Public Hearing were: Sue D'Hondt, Beverly Fink, Betty Wolf, Kathy Luckritz, and Joyce Herter from the League of Women Voters of Des Plaines, Tom Lee, Paddock Publications, Sam Tapson, Sr. Cityzen Coordinator, City of Des Plaines, Alderman Ward, and representatives of the Salvation Army.
