The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Des Plaines, Illinois, was called to order by Mayor
John E. Seitz at 8:05 P.M. in the Eleanor Rohrbach
Memorial Council Chambers, Des Plaines, Civic Center
on Monday, April 6, 1987.
Roll Call indicated the following Aldermen present:
Muehlenbeck, Koplos, Volberding, Bonk, Martin, Wetter,
Schneck, Kisslinger, Adams, Gebert, Sarlo, Chiropolos,
Addante, Hervas, Zanca. Alderman Hardiman arrived at
8:25 P.M.
The opening prayer was given by Mayor Seitz, followed by
the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

Minutes of the regular meeting of the City Council held
March 16, 1987, as published. Motion declared carried.

that City would support application for elderly housing
by Lifelink Corporation, 331 S. York Road, Bensenville,
IL 60106, to HUD and if approved by HUD by September,
1987, City will sell the Thacker Street Water Treatment
Plant to Lifelink for a mutually agreed market value
price subject to approval by the Plan Commission, Zoning
Board of Appeals and the City Council; and City
immediately petition Zoning Board of Appeals to prepare
text amendment to make this type of elderly housing a
Special Use in R -2 District.

Community Cab at the Transit Center at a fee of $450 per
month; lease to include: review and renewal provisions,
unattended cabs- shall not be parked anywhere on Transit
Center property, only two attended cabs will be parked
on Transit Center property at any one time while await-
ing fares, no maintenance of cars may be performed on
Transit Center property, and oil -dry substance will be
placed twice monthly where cabs are parked while waiting

Mayor Seitz announced the results of the vote taken for
membership on the Committee on Committees as follows:
Chairman - Sarlo; Kisslinger, Adams and Chiropolos.
There was a tie for the fifth member between Wetter and
Muehlenbeck. Mayor Seitz flip a coin, Wetter won and
was then declared a member of the Committee on
Committees.
