Seitz at 8:08 P.M. in the Eleanor Rohrbach Memorial Council Chambers, Des Plaines Civic Center on Tuesday, September 2, 1986 ROLL CALL: Also present were: City Comptroller Peters, Commissioner of Public Works Matula, Deputy Fire Chief Albrecht, Police Chief Kozenczak, City Engineer and Acting Municipal Development Department Director Shrake, Human Resources and Services Department Acting Director Donahue, Administrative Officer Wildenberg, and City Attorney Smith. Moved by Kisslinger, seconded by Koplos, to adopt the recommendation of the Municipal Development Committee tc concur with Des Plaines Zoning Board of Appeals re Case 86 -28 -V to grant variation to permit construction of 20' x 22' garage which will exceed 30% maximum lot coverage by 240' in R -3 Two Family Residential District; side yard measurements would be 4' and 3' on the two sides of the garage at 1721 Linden Street; and City Attorney be authorized to draft necessary ordinance. Moved by Kisslinger, seconded by Koplos, to adopt the recommendation of the Municipal Development Committee tc concur with Des Plaines Zoning Board of Appeals re Case 86 -29 -R to grant request for rezoning as follows: C -1 west of the extension of Parkview Lane across Busse Highway, retaining R -2 zoning east of that line; petitioner to obtain "open space" covenent on R - property and comply with storm water management require- ments; comply with all other City requirements at 1925 Busse Highway; and City Attorney be authorized to draft necessary ordinance. WOLF- CENTRAL Moved by Kisslinger, seconded by Koplos, to adopt the PLAZA SUB- recommendation of the Municipal Development Committee tc DIVISION: concur with Des Plaines Plan Commission to approve Wolf- Central Plaza Subdivision, Norwood Builders (Ray Adreani) per specific requirements of Engineering Department, and authorize Mayor and City Clerk to execute plat of subdivision. Moved by Volberding, seconded by Hardiman, to adopt the recommendation of the Building Code Committee to deny request for variation from required 70% open "see - through" area to 50% open "see- through" area (Title VI, Chapter 7, Section 6- 7 -1(A) of City Code) for fence located at 308 Drake Lane (petitioner had agreed to comply with all other provisions of the ordinance). Motion declared carried. Alderman Hervas voted no. Moved by Zanca, seconded by Volberding, to adopt the recommendation of the Public Safety Committee that City Clerk's office be authorized to advertise for bids for one (1) Class "A" , 1500 gallon per minute fire engine pumper, returnable by 3 P.M. on Monday, September 29, 1986. PIMS USER FEE: Moved by Zanca, seconded by Volberding, to adopt the recommendation of the Public Safety Committee to approve payment of semi - anneal PIMS user fee and tele- phone cost for the period July 1, 1986 to December 31, 1986, in the amount of $10,266.
