M. Durard, who were inadvertently omitted from participat-
ing in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF)
when they were first employed by the City. This will not
require any additional expense by the City, however, it
will require that they pay their portion of the pension
contribution (with interest) for the 11/2 months of omitted
service for each before they can receive credit, and that
City Attorney be authorized to prepared necessary
resolution (R -3 -86 and R -4 -86 to come before the Council

LIQUOR Moved by Adams, seconded by Addante, to adopt the
LICENSE, recommendation of the License & Judicial Committee to
1249 ELMHURST: grant a Class E Liquor License to Good Fourtune, Inc.,
d /b /a Crab & Things, 1249 Elmhurst Road, subject to final
approval by Police Department, and City Attorney be
authorized to draft necessary ordinance. Motion declared
carried.
Moved by Adams, seconded by Gebert, to adopt the recommen-
dation of the License & Judicial Committee that the City
defend all elected or appointed officials and any judgment
or expenses be paid by the City unless a finding or
determination is made by a court of competent jurisdiction
that the official acted outside the scope of his /her
position, and City Attorney be authorized to draft
necessary ordinance. Motion declared carried.

recommendation of the Building Code Committee that in
cases where testing procedures of Underwriters Laborato-
ries takes longer than 90 days that U.P.S. testing pro-
cedures and labels be recognized for Hughes Optical
Products Co., Inc. only, and City Attorney be authorized

rules so that the matter of a satellite antenna at West

spout and sump pump discharge be directed away from
adjacent properties and retained upon property owner's
lot, and that discharge of gutters, downspouts and sump
pumps may be directed into approved swales or drainage

CODE: recommendation of the Building Code Committee that City
adopt the updated 1985 American National Standards
Institute Elevator Code, and City Attorney be authorized

DETECTORS: recommendation of the Building Code Committee to concur
with the recommendation of the Fire and Municipal
Development Departments that smoke detectors be required
in single family residences and placed as specified in
National Fire Protection Association Life Safety Code,
